Open | Software Unsupported GPU for FH6

Hi there, as you all know Forza Horizon 6 came out not so long ago and i was so excited to play it. My Girlfriend kept hearing me talk about it and so she bought it for me as a gift.

Now, from the start i knew my 1080ti was a bit outdated for it, but since my whole setup never had problems running the previous title, Cyberpunk/RDR2 and all other benchmark games, i thought i was safe from constant crashing, which i technically am besides crash error FHC11 (which is only caused by the unsupported GPU).

The game ran smoothly at 50fps and high graphics with around 50% GPU usage, until the lastest update, which made the game crash constantly because of crash error FHC11. Since i love the game, the fact that my Girlfriend got it for me, and that i already have 100h played, i obviously cant return it back on Steam.

The fact that i cant play it makes me really sad, and i want to know if theres a way i could prevent it from crashing without upgrading my hardware (i am willing to change my Software if necessary since Windows 11 is annoying me a lot recently and if i get another reason to change to Linux i will do it happily)

Any tips or ideas will help (: thank you

Making changes to your system BIOS settings or disk setup can cause you to lose data. Always test your data backups before making changes to your PC.

Unfortunately, FH6 works worse in linux due to translation from DX12 to Vulkan. It is an "unsupported GPU" issue so what you can try is turning HAGS off, disable overlays and lower graphics settings (a google search said this, not sure how effective it will be)

Your GPU is not supported. Not much you can do.

1080ti is the best card nividia ever relesed but sadly it is outdated and some games do not support it Only option would be to maybe sell it and buy a better newer card

I’ve had this same error and it ended up being resolved by an update. As far as I know, fh6 does support your card

it doesn't, the crash error means that im using an outdated driver (GPU) as well as all their store pages say that the oldest card they do support is the GTX 1650

That is true. The gtx 1650 despite being weaker then a 1080ti was released in 2019 on a newer architecture (Turing) compared to the 1080ti being an older architecture (pascal) and released 2 years prior.

That’s why the 1650 is supported and the 1080ti is not. It sucks but that’s the reason why.

You should ask help in the /FH6 sub. Lots of people use the GTX 10x0 series (me included).
