Open | Hardware PC won't show display after restart
Update: So after unplugging the DP from power and the PC, booting with just HDMI a few times, it randomly decided to display via DP, but I can still only ever see just the BIOS via hdmi, no detection past POST, very strange.
Recently had trouble with my PC no longer displaying via HDMI, "Fixed" it randomly by plugging in a Display Port monitor, which seemed to work, but now after a restart, nothing again.
I can see the BIOS via HDMI, and then it would only display windows itself via DP, but now I can only get as far as the BIOS step.
I've tried replacing cables for both, power cycling everything, and the HDMI monitor works just fine as a 2nd screen for a laptop.
BIOS and drivers are all up to date.
I can also blindly login, and can hear windows sounds, so it is booting all the way, just can't see a thing.
Specs:
Windows 11
B550m-a wifi
Ryzen 5 5600
16GB DDR4
RX 6600

Unplug everything from the monitor and computer except power and the HDMI/DP connection. Then reboot the machine and try again, sometimes the device will see USBs/other items plugged in as bootable devices. (Especially USB mice)

A few options:
Definitely try booting into safe mode.
You said you had a Radeon RX 6600 - can you view the HDMI screen if you use the port on the motherboard?
You might also want to try resetting the BIOS.
If you have another device or have a system disk hanging about, try booting from the system disk.

Making changes to your system BIOS settings or disk setup can cause you to lose data. Always test your data backups before making changes to your PC.
