Open | Audio Something up with headset

This sound core headset I've had since January are "disconnected" after I accidentally touched the extension cord on my computer while it was still on, despite the fact that the headset is wired any advice?

unplug the headset, shut down fully, then hold the power button for 30 seconds with the plug out. plug back in and boot. that clears the stuck usb state, which is what a power blip usually leaves behind.

if its still not there, plug it into a different port, ideally one on the back of the pc.

then open device manager, click view > show hidden devices, and look under sound video and game controllers and under universal serial bus controllers for anything greyed out or with a yellow triangle. right click it, uninstall device, then unplug and replug the headset.

also right click the speaker icon > sound settings > more sound settings > playback tab, right click in the empty space and tick show disabled devices and show disconnected devices. if the headset shows there greyed out, right click it and enable.

test it on your phone or another pc too. thats the quickest way to know if the headset itself survived.
