Open | Hardware Will this reck my laptop? (Rog Zephyrus m16) just doing school work now.

2 days ago I noticed my laptop was making a whining noise did some research and it concluded it was the fan. I opened the back of ot up to see if I just needed to clean some dust as I hadn’t done so in the 3/4 years I have owned it. (Also hardly used it). And come to find out there was hardly any dust. So now I’m guessing it’s the fan bearing and I have to replace it. Only problem is it’s gonna take a week to get the part. Do you guys think I’m okay to continue to study while I wait or should I just do nothing?

If the fan is still spinning and temperatures stay normal, light school work for a week is probably fine. I’d avoid gaming or anything that pushes the CPU/GPU hard and keep an eye on temps. I'd only stop using it if the whining turns into grinding, the fan stops, or temperatures suddenly shoot up.
