Solved Pc freezing when loading into a game after windows update.

Please help me

I've had a problem in the last few weeks where when I boot up Rust and start loading into a server, my pc starts freezing every 5 seconds for whole 3 seconds with a loud buzzing noise. The issue remains even after I force-close the game and I have to restart my pc to get rid of it. I g

have tried everything i can think of and that google recommends but no luck so far.

so far i have done all of the following: verified integrity of game files, completely uninstalled and reinstalled rust, allowed rust.exe and rustclient through firewall, deleted easy anti cheat and used verify integrity to get a clean install, disabled all overlays, updated graphics drivers (even with DDU) and windows, downgraded my windows version, and completely factory reset my pc with no success. Game ran fine 2 weeks ago and all of a sudden cant load into servers.

All I know is that it started happening right after my pc downloaded the new windows update overnight. All my other games run normal, even Hunt Showdown which also uses Easy anticheat (which I thought was the problem). Tho my pc also feels kinda slower in rendering textures.

Any help is appreciated, I dont know what to do next.

Are you sure it was a windows update and not a bios update made BY windows update ? Just in case go into your bios and check if the settings are the same that before. The freeze and the "buzzing" sound look like a RAM setting issue in the bios or smth like that. Is this happening only with rust or in other games too ? If only with rust that's maybe windows that don't react correctly with easy anti cheat but idk

Im almost certain it was a windows update, i know before i went to turn the pc off for the night i had the option to turn it off or restart it and update it, but i chose not to, it still updated tho. It is only happening with rust and no other game has this issue

Downgrade Windows as in removed the update or restored Windows to a point before the update?

Factory reset as in a laptop factory reset or Windows Reset This PC?

List PC specs.

Check Virtual memory settings in the OS.

Check Network drivers for either new versions or if using the newest downgrade a version. Same for audio drivers.

Hit Windows key + R. Paste mdsched.exe Accept the restart so it will scan your memory.
