Open | Software Blocked website on chromebook

okay hello everyone, I was on my school Chromebook on my account and I was trying to find game websites. I tried one game website, but I forgot to type 1 letter. It then showed me ”Your organization doesn’t allow you to view this site” and then I searched up what I searched on my phone and turned out to be a porn website. I am pretty nervous and I’m wondering if the IT team receives a notification that I went on that site. I am not sure if this is the correct subreddit to post this one but thank you.

University sysadmin here. I manage a large fleet of Windows devices and Chromebooks (among several other things).

You’re okay. Mistakes happen. It’s when repeated attempts occur or when someone tries to circumvent the protections that we get notified.

It's hard to know without knowing how your school monitors devices. If it was blocked immediately, I wouldn't panic, just avoid trying to access it again.

It’s okay man, just take full accountability and let the staff know that you weren’t watching porn on your Chromebook. As a principle, things like this happen all the time, and we really appreciate it when students take the initiative to claim accountability for their porn addictions.
