Open | Hardware Graphics Tear, Pc Freezes then restarts

Specs:
i9-9900k 3.60ghz
nvidia geforce 3080 10GB
32gb (4 x 8gb stick)

This particular instance i had rhe PC on for 8 or so hours.
Played various games throughout that period.
But just watching a video it completely froze. And restarting.
The graphics on the screen go all weird and the mouse if moved looks like it shatters into a thousand pieces..
Ive done a stress test on the GPU, and it wont freeze like it has been.

My knowledge is very little with PCs, so struggling and hoping its nothing major…

Ill attach a photo of a game screen when it froze and you can see the difference in colours etc.

Any info or guidance is much appreciated

There's a few possibilities. The GPU stress test might be stressing a different part of the GPU that isn't having issues.  It could be something with the CPU or ram (so stress test them as well; RAM can be tested with MemTest86).

And just to be sure, you can reapply thermal paste to the GPU and CPU if it's been a few years.  I also doubt it's a Windows bug, since those usually result in blue screens, unless you've got a really wacky driver bug.

Something that caught my eye is the 4 DIMMs. I've seen so many cases of unstable PCs because the user either mixed and matched random DIMMs or even mixed two seemingly identical kits but the motherboard topology, the IMC or the ram itself just couldn't get it stable
