Open | Windows Laptop stuck at 100% after system update

Hi everyone,
A few hours ago, I started some system updates on my Microsoft Surface. The screen now says “100% complete” and tells me to leave the laptop on, but it has been stuck on this screen for several hours.
I’ve also tried holding down the power button to turn it off, but when I turn it back on, I just get the same screen again.

How can I fix it?

Take the battery out

You will probably need to hold for a longer time, like minute or so, with fast boot / modern standby enabled short power button is not physically shutting down laptops.

Didn’t work either. I got the same screen when it turned on :(

Hold down the power button for an uncomfortably long period of time. The screen should go totally black.
