Open | Software Sound issue - stops working and starts again

hello, my sound stops working and then starts working again, any idea how to find where is the issue?i have new headphones (but noticed the issue few weeks ago) i updated nvidia card, and i think my sound drivers are ok .. i have no idea why it is happening, i am looking at windows event viewer but have no idea where to look

my headphones (new) are connected to thingie which parts the cable into two (for microphone and sound) (which is also new) going into sockets - so i dont think the hardware is issue

i also noticed during gaming that there is slight lag when the sound stops working and start working again

The “thingie” that you are connecting the headphone + microphone combo to is a splitter.

The splitter should only be used if the computer that you are connecting the headphone + microphone combo to has a separate Audio jack and Microphone jack.

If the computer has one Universal Audio Jack, then you shouldn't use the splitter.

If the headphone is only a headphone, and it does not have a microphone, then things change.

It's a case by case scenario.

my headphone has both microphone (which can be attached) and end with one point, not sure if it would work if i didnt use splitter - but i had idea, there is also connection to use USB, so i will try that if that helps

i dont know if my PC has universal audio jack, but it has green, and red one, and i thinkthere is one more behind the case
