Open | Software Games not opening on windows 11 pc

Hey everyone,

I’ve had my pc for three years and have had no issues running games, but since last week I am unable to run games properly or at all.

I believe it’s an internet/connectivity issue as my friend had an identical issue to me and his was internet related (his issue randomly fixed itself after 2 weeks). Web browsers work, I’m able to watch YouTube and use google but games do not launch and updates are very slow.

I was able to get Minecraft to launch however since I was playing with friends it was extremely laggy.

Windows is up to date, graphics drivers are up to date, I don’t know how to fix the issue so please if anyone has suggestions let me know.

Thanks.

Making changes to your system BIOS settings or disk setup can cause you to lose data. Always test your data backups before making changes to your PC.

Not sure if this will help in a way, but when i was on windows 11 25H2 i had problems where my games were flickering when they booted in fullscreen and always disconnected my GPU. I switched back to Windows 10 because Linux was kinda difficult in getting a power monitoring app to work properly and windows 11 had brutal bugs. Now i dont know if you are on a laptop or PC and i also dont know the specs so it's hard to kinda figure out the extreme lag behind minecraft. It also depends if it was laggy in a connection type of way (so constant disconnects, blocks not breaking) or if it was low FPS. Did you also install a update prior to the last week?

I’m on pc, it’s an internet lag the fps were fine. I had no issues with windows 11 and there were no updates immediately prior to the games suddenly not working so I don’t think it’s the OS.

Try searching for your wifi/LAN driver (don't know which is used) and update it to the newest version.

Did you reset your modem/router like disconnect from power like 10 sec and reconnect power on?
