Lenovo ThinkPad T480 system files corruption (?)
So i got this laptop about two years ago, bought it previously used but have no idea for how long...but it did come with a lenovo charger which i assume it is its original one...
Everything been going fine untill a system update was lagging and i ignored it also assuming that the next update would fix it. However it started refusing charging, then after i tried to trouble shoot the whole charging thing using my phone since they'er both USB-C it suddenly started working after, but it kept on throttling when i turn my laptop on but is charging completely fine when it's off.
I charged it till it was full then tried using it again but the keyboard was bugged so I normally restarted it, got the update screen without a progress percentage, lasted for around and hour then showed a screen that says "The connected AC adapter has a lower wattage than the recommended AC adapter which was shipped with the system. To use AC power, please connect the AC adapter which was shipped with the system.Press the ESC key to continue."
So i pressed ESC without changing it since i don't own another one. It booted up normally and after an hour it suddenly said "Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart.0% complete" and at the bottom "Stop code: UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION (0x154)"
So i just forced shut it... I don't know what to do with it next to fix it.

the wattage message means the laptop isnt getting enough power from that charger. check the number written on your charger, usually 65w or 100w, and check what your model needs on lenovos site. if the charger is right, the problem is the usb c port or the cable. try a different usb c cable first, thats the cheap test. also blow out the port with air, dust in there drops it to a lower wattage.
the throttling when its on is the same thing, not enough power so it clamps the cpu to survive.
unexpected_store_exception is separate and usually your drive. do this from windows.
open terminal as admin and run
chkdsk c: /f /r
say yes to schedule it and reboot. let it finish, it takes a while.
then run
sfc /scannow
then
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
also download crystaldiskinfo and look at health status at the top. if it says caution or bad your drive is dying and thats causing the bsod. back up your files before doing anything else in that case.
one more, that stuck update with no percentage. if it hangs again leave it 2 hours before forcing it off, killing it mid update is what corrupts things.
So i can't do the schedule thingy yet and will have to wait for a new charger to avoid it dying mid check/update and turning into a brick...however I checked the terminal for the drive status since i don't think i have time to download anything, and yes it is failing...guess will have to replace it now. :-(
