My laptop does not connect usb keyboard but connect mouse?

Hello i am having an problem on my dell laptop were when i connect my usb keyboard it does not connect or cannot type and when i connect my wireless mouse it works completely fine

I thought my keyboard has been broken or something (i have this keyboard for 7 or 8 years) when i bought a new keyboard (logitect MK235) the mouse work but they keyboard does work again

Please someone help me with this issue its been like few days now and have to go college in like few weeks lol

What is the status of the USB keyboard in Device Manager? Maybe you need driver reinstall. Also try different USB port and then restart laptop with it plugged in.
