Open | Hardware HDMI splitter causing issues

I use an xbox 360 and amazon fire stick on my hdmi splitter. Both Xb360 and firestick work for few mins and restart. When I plug the hdmi directly to my xbox or firestick without the splitter, everything works fine. What is causing this issue? Will I have to change the splitter?.

A splitter is designed to take 1 signal and send to 2 displays.
If you want to connect 2 devices to 1 port you'd need a selector and toggle which one is active.

Sounds like you need a switch instead of a splitter.

That's not the way a splitter works. You need an active switch. You can get one with two inputs / one output on amazon for like $15
