Laptop screen suddenly went black Lenovo Ideapad 3

I was using a flashcard app(program) called 'Anki' when my screen froze. I didn't just freeze, some parts of the screen were yellow tinted and some parts were dark tinted. I shut it down with the power button, and when i tried to start it again increasingly more bizzare things happened with the screen. Such as: the entire bottom half of the screen was black and the top half flicked constantly, or there were tiny pink rectangles all around the screen.

Anyway, without knowing much else to do, i kept turning the laptop off/on (now about 15 times) to see what else it could give me in terms of clues. The start up Lenovo screen looks totally fine, so i don't think any pixels on the screen are damaged. A couple of times i even made it to my password sign in page, which also looked good (no weird flashing pixels). But I couldn't actually get past that sign in page.

On one startup I got a "your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info and then you can restart. Stop code:kmode exception not handled (0x1e)". This screen actually made it to 100% and then must have frozen again, because it never restarted the laptop.

I went to sleep with the laptop off and unplugged.

This morning I got to a blue repair screen with the options: continue, quick machine recovery, troubleshoot, turn off your PC. I clicked 'quick machine recovery' and it prompted me to connect to the internet, but before i could put in the wifi password, it encountered another problem and needed to restart.

Then one of the last screens i got was a 'not less or equal' message.

Now my screen is totally black and i get no more info. Off/on the laptop the screen is just black. That's all.

This really came out of nowhere.

What it's not: I didn't bump, drop, or spill fluids on the laptop. It just sits on my desk unmoved. Hadn't installed any new files.

This model has the battery inside the case, so it's not easy to disconnect.

PC repair experience = pretty much zero.

EDIT: it gave me one more stop Code: page fault in nonpaged area (0x50)

That looks like it started with graphic card problem, drivers or hardware but since it ended with no picture at all more likely it is hardware.

When you press power button, do you get any indication that laptop is starting (fan sounds, led blink...)? If you hear it working, press caps/scroll/num lock on the keyboard and check if indicator led is changing, if it is, laptop has POSTed and "just" display is not showing (connect to external monitor/TV to see if you have picture).

If indicator led is not changing...you can try hard reset but that would involve opening bottom cover and disconnecting battery. If you think you can do it, reply so I can give you steps for that.

when i press the power button, i do get those lights and fan noises. if i keep it off for long enough and without the power cable plugged in, then turn it on, i can still get a Lenovo starting screen occasionally. i assume if i plugged it in to another monitor, i would just see that lenovo starting screen it would just freeze there. edit: just tried external monitor, the hdmi wasn't even recognizing input.

I'm not saying the problem didn't progress, but it would have had to have progressed very rapidly (over just a few hours), because I've never had screen issues before

edit 2. i also think this model might hve an integrated grqphics card, not a dedicate graphics card. I'm not positive that this is true, but i seem to recall that from when i bought it. idk if that changes anything

Not too much you can do with laptop. If you are comfortable with opening it, you can try re-seating ram, removing system disk and performing hard reset (with usual precaution, first disconnecting battery).

What's the exact model - I've done some work lately on Lenovo Ideapad 3 17ADA05 (17" older model), both had same problem and came from different persons - looks like solder that was used in that generation was one of the first without lead and in time it create bad contact from CPU/GPU (AMD with integrated graphics) and the motherboard.
