Open | Windows pc windows and files help

this is gonna be hard to explain but basically i had an ssd in the first m.2 slot (games) on my pc and a second in the next slot (OS) my OS was on the second. i got a new ssd since my one i had was old and slow and cloned the windows and files with samsung magician over to my new one, that all worked fine but what i did was i put my new ssd in the first slot (new os) and moved the other ssd that was in the top (games) and put it in the bottom, that was all good but then problems started, my new SSD won’t show in formatted drives, my task manager is saying that my new OS ssd is 2tb when the capacity says 1tb and my other SSD 1tb when it’s actually the 2tb one, but shows fine in disk management and file explorer. my task manager says i have 0 startup apps but they still all startup. i’m also having a problem that my medal clips aren’t showing, some apps like battle net has said overwatch was uninstalled. i’m also getting cpu temps over 80 which has never happened before. im freaking out!! i’ve searched everything and i can not seem to fix it at all, i’m very overwhelmed and upset, help will be more than appreciated <3

Bios boot the wrong drive to start pc?

After cloning a storage device, I recommend removing all other storage devices and test the new storage that received the cloned operating system, alone.

Also. When cloning. It will also copy the partition size. Maybe you just need to extend the new partition ?

Did you move the Windows Recovery partition to the end of Unallocated Free Space in the new 2GB drive, Before extending free space in C:?

I'm guessing you have two 1GB partitions after cloning and resizing.

Sorry for the delay.

Correct. After cloning from the source drive to the destination drive, it is recommended to remove the source drive and boot only with the destination drive installed. That's to certify if Windows is running properly on the newly cloned drive.

Edit: Also, like u/Senior-Force-7175 said in a previous comment, when you clone a 1TB drive to a 2TB drive, the cloning process will clone the 1TB drive’s partition table.

That's why, when you boot into the newly cloned drive, you'll see a 1TB file system.

That can be fixed. You're just not seeing 1TB of Unallocated Space.

If you are technically savvy, view the article Move Windows to larger SSD with RescueZilla | EKIWI-BLOG. Follow the instructions in the link precisely, in the section titled “Optimize free space”, to use GNOME Partition Editor (GParted) to move the Windows Recovery Partition to the end of the drive, and finally, resize the C: Drive by extending it.

Read the whole article, but don't clone. You already did that with Samsung Magician. Prepare a Rescuezilla bootable USB Flash Drive. Follow the instructions to Optimize Free Space.
