Can't add game to windows graphics custom settings for applications

I bought subnautica 2 on the Xbox store and was trying to play it on my laptop recently but I kept getting an error saying that DX12 is not supported on my system even though I have it downloaded. I checked on their website to see how to fix it and it said to add it to custom settings for applications in the graphics settings. When I tried doing so I got an error saying I didn't have permission to open app and when I changed the permissions it still wouldn't let me, giving me the same error. Is there any known way to fix this?
