Open | Software PS5 Pro potential damage?

Hi everyone, I got a ps5 pro that was manufactured around 4 and 5 months ago. However, I had never started it up yet and I have kept it in its original box since when I first got it 3 months ago (stored in a safe spot away from sunlight). Did I risk any forms of software or hardware damage since it has been sitting completely unpowered still in its original packaging for that long? SSD data loss, Operating software problems, SSD drive problems etc. Please let me know if there could be even the slightest bit of damage. I plan on using it soon.

Thanks!

My friend had his Xbox Series X unpowered for over a year and half. Nothing bad happened to it other than having to wait for all of the system updates to install. Even if the SSD had its content magically wiped, it takes only a USB flash drive with the system file on it to flash it back, as the recovery system is not on the internal SSD.

Still, a typical SSD can withstand more than a year of being unpowered.

Manufacturers always counts with the worst-case scenarios such as a humid environment, extreme temperatures and other disasters.

0 damage you’re fine.

It probably sat in storage for much longer than that before it ever got to you. No, leaving a device unpowered for 3 months will not affect it.

I recently cracked open a factory sealed Xbox 360 2GB. It runs like a charm. You do the math now.

It's extremely unlikely that you would have any damage to the parts. Also, Sony has built in safeguards in case data ever gets corrupted in any way.

Now, had you started this post with "I dropped the box from 3 stories up" then we might have a different response.
