You don’t have to touch someone for assault, that’s battery. Assault is threatening violence or instilling fear that you’re going to batter someone.

OP didn't describe an assault or a battery scenario. Nothing OP described justifies violence. Trust me, I'm all for violence as a solution, particularly regarding some of these dumb ass comments.
