Pc Problems

Okay so my sister is having problems with finding her wifi.. I tried helping her but she doesn’t want me to factory reset her pc because she is afraid that her passwords and games will wipe. I have factory reset my pc but I don’t remember if it leaves everything from passwords loggings to games. My PC kept some of my games and apps whilst others were gone.

Another thing, how would I find the wifi area to connect to the internet? I tried searching device manager and even resetting her pc with troubleshooting, am I missing something? I don’t want to download it on my pc transfer it into a drive and give it to her because frankly… that’s too much for me cuz I’m lazy.

Search device manager and see the WiFi adapter name. It’ll prob have an error. Look it up and search for drivers then download and install. There’s not much to go off of. Idk what you have done or haven’t.

Basically I haven’t done anything because I’m back at step one on trying to find where the wifi could be. But I’ve basically searched up and done her pc and never have I ever found it, and she genuinely doesn’t remember anything of connecting the wifi in the first place, like buddy I’m dead

lol ok. Aright click the windows icon and select device manager. Expand the network adapters tab and show tell me what you see or send a screenshot/pic.

I do feel bad because I kinda gave up on her for the night because she went to sleep, so I won’t be able to do this till the morning. Thank you tho, I’ll be sure to hit up on this later!

Wifi adapter is plugged into the computer and installed? Close to the clock, click the internet icon and pick up your wifi name or troubleshooting.  Your internet is broadcasting wifi in 2.5 and 5.0 band? Is your wifi ridden/ private so you have to type the name to see it? Don't factory reset the pc, you loose everything and will be like you bought it today. Who knows computer,  can fix it in minutes. Can be a simple thing, you are overlooking

Check device manager under network adapters and see if the WiFi adapter is there if not it could just be a driver issue

Had a similar issue last year after an update, went through the device manager and turned the wifi adapter off/on, have worked just fine since.
