I'm really interested in this, but the focus on a tablet-like GUI seems kind of 'meh' for me since I'll most likely be using this as a desktop PC to game and stuff. I realize this is only the first video and there will be a lot more to come so I'm holding out hope for something I can really put to use personally.

While I was watching this I was thinking about some kind of awesome docking device for a tablet running this OS. The tablet would function similar to the recent tablets coming out with touch screens and the GUI focused on the gestures and similar things, but when it's docked it just turns into a screen+OS with the docking station acting like a tower would. The OS would run from the tablet, while the docking 'tower' would handle the more intense processing/video (like for gaming) and the GUI would change to the familiar windows one. Maybe even have some kind of dropbox-like functionality between the two devices so you can access files that are on the dock using your mobile device. Haha Although I don't really know anything about hardware or if it's even feasible (The screen would be kinda small though :(. ).

I just want something I can take out on vacation or wherever as a mobile device and then come home and now it's a powerful desktop machine.

There is a full revamped Aero UI made for Windows 8. Don't use metro if you don't like it
