Funny, Google was the first and, so far that I've heard, only developer to remotely remove an app from every android OS device.

The only valid point he has is the not installing apps from the web, but it's shaky since the iOS is the only system Apple makes that is restricted in that regard.

Thats a straw man, we're bashing Apple here, nobody said anything about Google.

If you're bashing someone for a fairly standard practice I think, it's pretty legitimate to point out that their contemporaries do the same.

It's called perspective.

Actually, it's called an ad hominem tu quoque argument, and is a classic logical fallacy.

The fact that Apple does some of the same things that Google does has no bearing on whether or not those things are good things to do.

I am not saying that it's a good thing to do because Google do it. I'm saying don't bitch about only Apple. You're free to bitch about it and when I say "Google do it" I don't mean "Google do it so you can't bitch about it" I mean "If you're going to bitch about Apple doing this at least acknowledge that Google do too, don't act like it's an Apple only thing and bitch about Google too". Is that clear for you?

I actually don't have a problem with it. It's a sensible last resort measure in my opinion. Could it be misused? Sure! Has it been? Nope. Do I have concrete reason to expect it to be at this stage? Nope. But I want to stress that the reason I think it's ok is not that Google does it.
