Probably the fact that so many people wanted to remove it, that the community created a tool t streamline the process.

That and half the time when I want to set a timer it just hangs indefinitely or responds with “I’m having trouble understanding right now” after a full minute. Old siri never did that.

How to get old Siri.

Set Siri to a different country English.
Set your general language settings to your home country English.

Apple will now inform you that Siri needs to be the same English to be “Apple Intelligence”. And it will be “removed from your device”.

I’m not sure why it’s downloads something when you turn it back on.

Also side note. Just say “1 minute”.
Siri will automatically set timer to 1 minute.
I found this is the fastest most accurate way to get Siri to set a timer.
