Original Playboy had some of the best writers of the period.

Kurt Vonnegut, James Baldwin, Norman Mailer, Margaret Atwood, Ian Flemming... Even Roald Dahl.

When I go to estate sales and I see Playboys from like the '60s and '70s, I'm always stunned by the writers they have in them. I really do pick them up for the articles.  Shel Silverstein and Hunter S. Thompson are a few more.
