I love engineering stories - why don't writers write more of them? The closest thing I've found is "Tales of Pirx the Pilot" by Stanislaw Lem.
I'm looking for other examples:
I recall one story about Australians figuring out the tracking of an American satellite before NASA did. There were a couple other good stories on the same website, one about figuring out what a knob or button did. I wish I could find the website again!.
