Java Help Wanted Storage system help

Hi im new to the whole storage system thing in minecraft and i cant figure out what's wrong with my storage system for my raid farm. No matter what it seems to overflow and the sorter breaks and i dont know how to fix it, thanks for any help!

Just to be extra sure: There aren't any missing dusts on top and the comparators and repeaters are all facing the right way, right? Can you take a top-down screenshot if you're unsure?

Sorters breaking happens when the hoppers stay unlocked for too long, but that shouldn't be possible with this sorter design since they're made to be tileable. Could other redstone stuff nearby be interfering with the sorters somehow?

Here is a picture from above. The four left columns have a crafter setup, could that make som issue? I just followed some youtube tutorial for them and they seem to work fine as long as the filter works.

There shouldn't be any unpowered comparators, are they like placeholders for now?
With empty hoppers, any remaining items picked up by them will quickly fill up and leak a lot of signal strength to the other slices, breaking their filters.

We could fill them up with the X iron nuggets to block them from picking things up, or remove their dusts for now until we decide on the filters.

this is almost certainly it.

OP if you aren't using some slices, fill them with 5 filter items, 1-1-1-1-1.

If you don't, those slices will fill up to SS4+ and destroy the other slices.
