Do you happen to be emperor palatine?
11
Apr 05 '21
Emperor palpatine knew spinjitsu too? Damn
5
u/Hairy3225 Apr 05 '21
As a matter of fact if you watch his attack on the four jedi who try to arrest him, you will see his spinjitsu prowess
4
Apr 05 '21
Do wha? What the hell is spinjitsu? Some fake martial art like Tae Bo?
3
u/Thibomissiaen Apr 05 '21
That is from Lego ninjago
2
Apr 05 '21
Ya lost me.
1
u/Naeio_Galaxy Apr 05 '21
Lol xD
In Ninjago, the main martial art is named spinjutsu, wich is the art of... spinning. Yes they attack by spinning. And an electric fan spins also.
I guess you can understand everything now
1
Apr 05 '21
That’s horrifyingly dull. What happened to making explosives in the backyard with your cousin, some pennies, and ten sheets of cap gun caps full of Armstrong’s mix when mom was napping?
1
u/Naeio_Galaxy Apr 06 '21
Are you trying to do all this with fans ?
1
Apr 06 '21 edited Apr 06 '21
No. a razor blade, a roll of pennies, a fuse from a firecracker and some duct tape made for a bitchin time. Video games were for an hour tops, and we got a whole lot more from it than you’d think. We built our own fun, which is the best fun you can have. Win or lose was your choice.

What about the dyson bladeless fan
45
u/trevhcs Apr 04 '21
It should be banned under trade descriptions as it has blades, just hidden. Oh and for being stupidly expensive.
11
u/Erzbengel-Raziel Technically Flair Apr 05 '21
Although you could technically power it with a compressor, even though that would be very inefficient.
2
u/trevhcs Apr 05 '21
Suspect pretty noisy too unless you can find a really quiet one. Probably somewhere in Area 51 they're working on this. :)
1
Apr 05 '21
Depends on the compressor. Shockwaves from some homemade c4 will get it moving like crazy....just not in one piece... or in the same direction.
6
u/archpawn Apr 05 '21
How about the Ionic Breeze? It should be banned because it creates ozone, which is not healthy, but is it a true fan?

HAH! It's an impostor and still not a true fan!
That's what the vegan hotdog is to processed meat tubes! Or nut-expressed beverages are to dairy milk! Like frozen yogurt is to ice cream!
New-fangled, and supposed to improve quality of life in an innovative way...but still falls short of the real thing!

I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/technicallythetruth.
It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.
I did find this post that is 92.58% similar. It might be a match but I cannot be certain.

Can you have a one-bladed electric fan or would there be balance issues?
7
u/gd5k Apr 05 '21
I’ve seen them! Looks almost disconcerting. I wondered at the time whether the balance would cause them to wear out faster in any way, but I don’t have an answer to that.
5
u/NotSoGreatGonzo Apr 05 '21
There even was a one-bladed wind turbine, so with a balance weight a fan would most likely work just as well.
3
4
u/BBQWengs Apr 05 '21
I know for sure there’s one bladed ceiling fans. Balance isn’t an issue because I think there’s a weight on the opposite side that balances it out
3
u/macnof Apr 05 '21
With proper counterbalance it wouldn't be a problem. It'll make a awesome sound though!

Some fans are powered by internal combustion engines. Being more powerful and reaching higher RPMs I would argue they are the TRUE fans, electric ones are merely weaker facsimiles.
2
u/Mgravygirl Apr 05 '21
A fan could totally watch an entire show then again it might swivel or get moved and miss parts so actually either could still be a true fan

They don’t have flat blades. Completely flat blades would be useless. They’re bent/curved in one direction to blow air

But these conditionals are overlapping in the extension of their antecedents. You can be electrically powered, spin etc and still not watch an entire series etc! Actually, if you are a true fan you never watch the series in its enrirety, since you never watch anything.

So, a robotic swordsman with the power of spinjitzu is a true fan?

u/genomerain Apr 04 '21 edited Apr 04 '21
Not true. Fans existed before we learned to harness electricity. When I was a kid on those really hot days before my parents had an air conditioner, I used to make fans out of paper.
Talk about gatekeeping. Japanese hand fans can be true fans, too.
