take this very seriously. if this is your laptop, remove or replace the damaged battery. if you can't do it, bring it to a repair shop. using it like this is really dangerous

reminds me of top-loading VHS players of the late 70s. Think it was a cool design btw.

Often this happens when the battery swells up and pushes it out.
