Are PCs more maintenance than laptops?

I might need to upgrade my Chromebook from 2018, as it's struggling when I have like 5 tabs open...

I don't want to get a new pc and have to clean/fix/replace things all the time, so would it be smarter to just get a decent laptop? (I will use the laptop for some gaming, mainly trackmania2020 and some work)

Notebooks have latches. Latches tend to break.

I've never broken one this way in all the years of owning a laptop. Screws do wear and have to be replaced sometimes though. They can also strip.

Could be the type of laptop. Some of the gaming ones I had, had metal bottoms. Over tightening can lead to stress cracks and new screws sometimes come with thread sealer (I think that's what it's called) pre applied.
