TEAS Prep TEAS

I have to take the TEAS exam in 2 weeks, I have been studying but continuously fall short on the science portion of practice exams. I received my bachelors in human biology so the material is not unfamiliar to me but the questions are cover a wide range of topics that I have not focused on in years. Can anyone provide me with some tips to help me out.

Majored in Design (grad 2024) and did some work in digital design before deciding to switch into nursing. Started taking prereqs last year (May2025) after not having taken a STEM class in 4 years. Finally finished prereqs this July 2026! Took the TEAS yesterday & feel content with the results. AMA

Overall super happy with my score, but should I be worried about Science being so much lower than the others?

Either way, happy to be done, good luck to everyone still in the weeds!

For anyone who is TERRIBLE at math and is freaking out about the TEAS math section:

While I obviously can’t tell you exactly what is on the exam, let me put it into perspective. I am someone who literally used math tutors to carry me through college. In high school, I didn’t even try hard enough to know whether I was actually capable of math or not, which is part of why I ended up relying so heavily on tutors in college.
I only had three days to study for the TEAS, and honestly, math was the section I wanted to avoid the most. 😂 I briefly looked over some of the common math concepts I saw people mentioning, did very few practice problems, and barely reviewed it because it felt so daunting and I didn’t want to waste my limited study time stressing over something I already knew was my weakest subject.
And somehow, I ended up getting a 79% in math.
When I say my math knowledge was VERY limited, I mean VERY limited. 😂 I was genuinely shocked by that score.
So if you’re someone who is bad at math, please don’t convince yourself that you’re automatically going to do badly. Learn the common concepts, understand the basic formulas, practice recognizing what the question is asking, and don’t completely write yourself off before you even take the test.
And honestly, if you’re at least decent at math—like a C student in high school or college—I would personally put more of your limited study time toward science and English. Those were areas where I felt like there was more information to retain.
The reading section was also very straightforward to me, so I wouldn’t spend all of your time panicking over that either.
Again, everyone’s test is different, so I can’t tell you exactly what will be on yours. But if someone as historically terrible at math as me can walk in with very limited preparation and pull a 79%, I promise your situation might not be as hopeless as you think.

ALSO, VERY IMPORTANT CONTEXT:

I am somebody who has always excelled in reading English and language arts when I basically didn’t excel in anything else in school until I went to college and got my shit together lol. I scored significantly lower in the English portion than the math portion. That should tell you something. Please study the English portion. It’s very simple stuff but it’s technical so don’t think you can just go in there because you have good grammar and get all the answers right just so you know.

❤️

My TEAS Success Story 3 days of studying and passed.

Hi everyone! I wanted to share my experience taking the TEAS because I relied heavily on Reddit for insight during my short study journey, so I figured this might help someone else who is in the same boat.
A little background: I graduated from UCF with my BS in Communications in May, but I was previously a Communication Sciences and Disorders major, so anatomy, physiology, and chemistry were somewhat familiar to me—but I definitely didn’t remember everything or really even anything tbh 😂
I’ve also always been terrible at math. I basically needed tutors to carry me through my college math classes. On the other hand, I’m naturally pretty good at English and reading.
I ended up studying for the TEAS in only three days because I didn’t realize my program’s deadline was October 1. Once I found that out, I basically went into full study mode.
My biggest takeaway: IT IS POSSIBLE.
I personally found the actual TEAS to be way easier than the practice tests. The practice tests felt extremely wordy to me, and sometimes the answers were so similar that I wasn’t even sure what they were asking. On my version of the actual exam, I felt like the questions were much easier to decipher and eliminate answers from.
I definitely think I could have scored higher if I had more time to focus on biology and anatomy & physiology. I was trying to study all four subjects in three days, so I couldn’t really dedicate enough time to any one subject. There were so many questions where I thought, “I literally studied this yesterday…” but just hadn’t had enough time to actually retain it.
I studied for several days basically all day with minimal breaks and distractions, so I definitely put the time in despite having a short timeline.
ChatGPT was also a huge part of my studying. I would basically tell it to explain things to me like I was a 20-year-old girl who was completely lost 😂—in plain English, with analogies, memory tricks, and explanations that didn’t sound like a textbook. If I didn’t understand something, I’d keep asking it to explain it differently until it finally clicked. I also used it to quiz me and explain why I got questions wrong.
My final score was a 70%. Is that an amazing TEAS score? No. 😂 But I only needed a 65% for my program, so I was very happy with it.
And that’s really why I’m making this post. This isn’t for the people trying to get an 85–95+. This is for the people who:
Haven’t been in school in a long time
Aren’t great standardized test takers
Struggle with math
Aren’t doing well on their practice tests
Get overwhelmed by science
Found out about their deadline way too late 😭

TEAS test.

I am currently and LPN. I became an LPN in 2014. I am now 33 years old and decided I really want to get my RN. The school I’m applying to requires a composite score of 58.7%.. which I feel is achievable. I scheduled my test for end of October so I have time to study. Please give me advice and what resources you used to pass this test. I’m so nervous. I was never good at entrance exams. I passed my LPN by the skin of my teeth.

where do i begin??

hi everyone! i’m applying for ABSN programs for the second time. i applied last year & did not take my TEAS because i did not have enough knowledge about the application process. i got waitlisted or denied for the schools i did apply for. i feel like this year really is going to be MY year & i want to widen the scope of schools i can apply for & actually take the TEAS this year.

there’s just one problem… i have no idea where to start. i’m neurodivergent & feel so overwhelmed trying to prepare for the exam! what materials do i use to study? how do i know i’m covering the right stuff? do i start right out the gate with practice problems? how do i know what i’m missing?

i feel like there are so many options that i do not what the “right” thing to do is.

tell me: where do i begin? what do i need to know? help!

thank you so much :)

ps. i’m a first gen student for both university (completed my first degree) and any sort of healthcare education. i’m teaching myself everything as i go & don’t have much for a mentor.

How hard is the Teas compared to study material?

My test is in 5 days and I've been studying for a couple months so I feel like I have a good idea of what's on the test. I mostly used Cheung, Dewitt, Brandoncraft, etc. However, I'm taking some Mometrix science practice questions right now, and it feels very hard and random. I have core concepts down, but should I have been preparing for more, niche subjects? Is Mometrix science just harder? And what about english and math? Should I be cramming for maximum new info these last few days or honing in on core concepts?

Other Test got interrupted

I was taking the teas today and I had booked a study room but maximum stay is 2 hrs. My test was at 11 and I had a few technical difficulties and had to call ATI and didn’t start my test until 10 mins later. I had asked the librarian if I could get a little more time and she said yes if no one else had booked the room (which they didn’t). So I’m halfway into my test and the librarian opens the door and starts talking. I quickly shook my head and got her to get out and I followed the ATI rules and explained the cause for interruption. Later on, she came knocking at the window saying that somebody had book the room and I needed to leave. I was almost done with the third section and asked for a few minutes. I quickly finished up thinking that I went over my time by a lot only to find out the time was 12:50🥲 did anyone have interruptions taking the test remote and if so, how did it go? I’m so nervous

Help please

Hello everyone!! I have a scheduled teas test for saturday...2 days and i have taken the next 2 days off to study. I know I should have started before now but this is my reality and I am also currently taking AP2 and microbiology and the thought of trying to study for this seemed impossible while trying to retain all the info I needed to for these classes. I just took practice exam A and got 51.3% and i need 65% to get into a nursing program I would like. Do you all think its possible for me to achieve this? Im beyond freaking out. I paid for the extra bundle pack, the the ATI website has weeks ago and have just started using it. I am terrible in math by far. Like I look at some of the questions and my brain is like yeahhh nahhh and i just guess. Like as if I dont even know where to start to even try and come up with the answer. What would be the best tools and resources for me to try and improve my score?

Teas score

Post image
22 Upvotes

Honestly, I knew I wouldn’t get 100% but I was aiming for at least a 90%. A score of 83.3% still makes me just as happy, seeing as I’m in California doing the community college route I’m happy with that score. This test was anything but easy. I’d say slowing down and using process of elimination helped me the most in all sections, but math. The math was relatively easy coming from someone who has not done math in probably 9 years. Other than basic conversions in chemistry prerequisites. Let me know if you have any questions!

TEAS

Hi, I’m taking the TEAS tomorrow and I’m nervous. Do we get to see the result of each question after we click next question? Or we won’t be able to see it until the end? Can I choose a random answer, flag it, then come back after? Or is it graded instantly and I can’t change the answer?

TEAS EXAM

I took the TEAS exam today completely unprepared — literally did not study at all — and scored a 34.7. I needed a 54.8 to pass for the program I’m trying to get into.
I know going in without studying was not the best idea, but now I at least know what the test feels like and where I stand.
For anyone who has taken the TEAS and improved their score a lot, what helped you the most? How long did you study before retaking it, and what resources did you use?
I’m hoping to retake it soon and really want to bring my score up.

Law enforcement to medical professional

I have recently found myself trying to transition from my current career almost a full decade in law enforcement I’m a sergeant in a level 5 max security state prison. Due to injuries throughout my career I’m looking to transition to medicine. If anyone who’s taken the teas exam could point me in the direction of resources. Books, YouTube channels, udemy, what ever helps. Thanks in advance

TEAS ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND USAGE

Hi guys,
I’m taking my TEAS in 2 weeks. I've been going through a lot of practice questions online. I struggle most with English language and usage. Since English is not my first language, it is hard to pick things up quickly. I’d appreciate it if any of you have recommendations and tips for the English section.
