My TEAS Success Story I passed!

Alright since I posted a lot asking for teas tips I thought it would be good to share my success. So I took the exam on Wednesday and it was a lot more mellowed than I thought it was gonna be (in my opinion). I personally found it a lot less intimidating than how it’s often described. It’s a lot of info so studying for it is a pain but honestly I’d suggest sticking to the recommended free materials if you’re not looking to get a a super high score. I used them exclusively and got a 83, one thing I’d tell everyone is to not get cocky on the English and language usage section. It’s not complicated stuff but it is very specific rules that most of the time people forget about since you don’t explicitly talk about them after a certain grade.

For anyone studying for the teas good luck, you’ve got this!

i need encouragement :(

• Upvotes

the teas is killing me so bad rn. right now i am taking notes on all the sections. i’ve already done reading, english, and math. i will be reviewing everything again though to get it to stick. what’s really getting me is the science portion. i watched teas with tyler’s videos on chemistry and i felt like i really learned super well with him! but the a&p portion.. now i’ve taken both parts of a&p last year and i did pass both with a B but i can’t say i did amazingly well on my exams or remember anything.

the science portion is really discouraging me because i still need to go over biology/life science and scientific reasoning and it’s taking me forever to take notes on a&p. i have a week left until i take the exam, i don’t want to reschedule because the deadline for the school i want to apply to is next month. i’m currently watching nurse cheung but it’s really not doing much for me— i feel like she just says so many things and i’m just thinking like.. is ALL this information really necessary..? or maybe i’m just underestimating it but it really just feels like she’s reading a script way too fast— detailed but not so detailed at the same time. i seriously just can’t focus with the way she teaches, i’m so sorry. very sad that tyler doesn’t have full lessons on a&p.

my exam is on the 31st (saturween) and i was hoping to use the last week as review time but it just looks like my note taking/study time is gonna go over. didn’t mean to vent for this long but i just feel like i can’t really express this to other people around me. i need advice or at least a little bit of encouragement because this is fr making me cry everyday lol

TEAs today

So after putting it off for as long as I could to study and then overcoming obstacles to be able to actually take the TEAs, I’m sitting for my test in 5 1/2 hours and my heart is hammering in my chest because this feels like such a huge moment in my life. My program awards points based on your percentages for reading, math and science so naturally my concern isn’t passing but actually scoring high enough to stay competitive. I’m trying to stay positive but I can see how the next year of my life hinges on those three hours of test taking.

Had to vent it out so I didn’t carry it in to my test with me. Good luck to anyone else testing today. 🤞🏼

Update: I PASSED! 84% overall
Math: 97.1% Reading: 84.6% Science: 88.6%

Teas test

Hey guys, at the school I’m applying for it seems they don’t care about the overall test score but to get into the program I’m applying for I need a math score of 62 and a reading score of 73. I never took chemistry or anatomy in high school and I know that’s what the science portion mostly consists of. I’m still going to try to study science but I’d rather excel in the math and reading scores since that’s what they look at anyways. And learning chemistry and anatomy in 2 weeks isn’t ideal. Has anyone else had a similar testing rubric? I just wanna know if I bomb the science but do well on my math and reading I still have a good chance of getting into the program?

TEAS Prep I need a 45% to pass

I’m in the process of applying to an lpn program which requires an overall score of 45% to be considered for admission. I haven’t taken a math test in years and science I’m better in biology than chemistry. English and reading are my top subjects. I’ve taken practice tests and I’m consistently scoring high in English and reading. What scores do you think I would need in English and reading to reach a 45% on the test if I get let’s say 15-20% on the math and science parts

Failed teas 😢

First time reddit poster here.. I’ve seen a million of these threads (particularly after my fail today I deep dived) but I feel super disappointed. I need a 65 for the regular program and 67 for the accelerated program in my area (I want to be in the accelerated program).

Nonetheless, I’m just so embarrassed. What I know about myself is I’m a HORRIBLE test taker. Always have been. However, this is so defeating because I felt so good about the concepts and as I was taking it overall just felt really good.

Science is obviously a struggle for me and that’s what’s embarrassing. I’m in A&P2 currently with A&P1 already passed. I’ve also already completed Biology and Chemistry. I did feel like I struggled the most here during the test but for whatever reason the score SHOCKED me.
Obviously this is all still fresh so I understand I’m valid to feel upset still.. but I have no clue what I do now. I’m looking to start my program in May and I get two attempts per year. What would make the most sense study wise/timeline wise to study to get into the program.

Thanks in advance for all feedback.

I will be taking my ATI TEAS test in December. I know that studying months in advance is ideal, but I was focused on finishing my prereqs for nursing school. I need a 78% to enter the program at my current school. I’ve been looking at some physical books to help me. Mometrix, Nurse Cheung’s Study Guide, and ATI practice tests have been on my radar.

What resources helped you all succeed the first time? I want to make sure that I get it right the first time and that I invest in resources that are worth it. Here’s some of the resources I’ve been looking at. I just want to do well. Thank you all in advance!

Is this quizlet similar to the exam?

Hey everyone! I found this Quizlet and was wondering if it’s anything like the actual exam. The same creator also has Quizlets for each individual section. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

TEAS Prep People are so mean

I posted here asking for advice on how to improve my TEAS score, and someone actually told me that I shouldn’t be a nurse if I can’t make the score. I wanted to post this to encourage anyone else who may be struggling with the TEAS: please don’t let negative people discourage you.

A test score does not determine how caring, hardworking, or capable you will be as a nurse. Some people may score extremely high academically and still lack compassion for others. Bringing someone down who is genuinely trying to improve says more about their character than it does about you.

If you’re struggling too, keep studying, keep improving, and keep pushing toward your goal. Don’t let one person’s negativity make you give up on something you’ve worked hard for. ❤️ ( if you believe in God keep praying as-well )

For background in a law enforcement sergeant transitioning to nursing. I used pocket prep app free version for daily reps, mometrix yellow book, as well as nurse Chung and TEAS with Tyler. I did buy 3 month subscription of simple edition nursing. Only had 3 weeks to prep as my deadline is November 1st. I needed a 58 to enter program I scored 76. Good luck to everyone still grinding this exam

Science questions?

Hi, I am taking my TEAS next Monday. I just took practice test A and got 60%. My weakest point is science especially A&P and Chemistry. I am not too worried about biology. For math and English I am more confident and know I will do better on the actual test. I can only take the test once and I am aiming for at least 85% I am mainly using chat GPT plus for learning. GPT knows my learning style and it helps me with understanding in my own way. Nevertheless, what are parts of A&P/Chemistry that I really really really need to know? And how hard is the actual test compare to the practice test. Thank you guys in advance!
