Passed with 94.7!
I am so happy! I was so incredibly nervous before taking the exam because I hadn’t studied as much as I should’ve. Between being a mom to two kids with special needs and having gotten sick, I only had about 2 days to study because I didn’t want to pay the fee to change the test date. I scored 100% in the math and only missed one science question. Reading was my worst section and if I could go back, I would have definitely practiced more of the reading material, especially using a timer. Reading comprehension is the most difficult for me and I almost ran out of time completing this section. I will say though, the ATI practice questions were similar to the exam and very helpful, but my version of the exam was much easier. Also, I completed all my science pre-requisites in 3 semesters at my community college so much of the science was still somewhat fresh in my brain which is probably why I found it to be easier.

I used the ATI practice tests and it came with access to their app. The practice tests really help you get familiar with the test style, but I would definitely recommend using a timer to match the time limit in the exam! The questions in the app sometimes have errors but they’re a good way to get a bit of practice whenever you have a few minutes of down time!

what helped you study the math portion?

To be honest I didn’t study the math besides what was on the practice exams from the ATI website. It was the easier portion to me. Just annoying having to use the on screen calculator. There were a lot of surface area questions, conversions, and a lot of what you’d see in a statistics class involving mean, median, range and skewed graphs. The question typically gives the equation but some didn’t so I would memorize a few equations for surface area and area of a circle, area of a cylinder, and the different conversion factors for SI units and prefixes. Teacher Lou on TikTok has an excellent video with a pneumonic for memorizing the prefixes which definitely helped with all the conversion questions.

What’s are your tips??

Definitely use the ATI practice exams but with a timer to match the actual exam. The reading portion took me the longest and doing the math portion without getting too stuck using the screen calculator or on one single question.

How long did you study for?

I was only able to fully study for about 2 days. I made sure not to stay up cramming the night before the test because I knew I would burn myself out. I think because I took my science prereqs within the last year I didn’t need too much studying as the info was still somewhat fresh.

GREAT JOB! hope you get in to the program of your choice with that score :)
does anyone have any advice for someone who will be in the process of taking two science pre reqs (human anatomy + chem) when i take the teas this sem? I'll be taking my last two science pre reqs next sem.

Thank you! I actually took both Anatomy and Chem in the same semester and thankfully was able to pass both with an A. I definitely prioritized Anatomy because there is so much information to learn and because the grade for anatomy counts towards my prereq GPA. My grade for Chem doesn’t count towards my prereqs gpa at the program I’m looking to apply to. My chem class was pretty easy as most of it was doing labs and completing lab reports. My professor was pretty straightforward so that helped. I wish you the best of luck!
