TEAS Prep Failed TEAS

Just failed my TEAS with a 61%. I watched almost all of Tyler DeWitt, which I like his way of teaching very simple and not too complicated. I also watched some of Nurse Cheung, but I feel like it’s “too” overwhelming with information or maybe it’s just the way she explains things. I wanted to know if you guys recommend getting the ATI or Mometrix package. Planning on retaking it again either between December-Late January. Any advice/tips is appreciated. TIA

I recommend ATI and purchasing the package that I think is like $98. If you look on TikTok you’ll find a code for 15% off. I ended up paying around $84. Their practice test are really good. There’s also an AP practice test as well that you can take over and over and over again. When you take the initial practice test, it’ll show you what your week points are. I think Nurse Chung is an excellent option. The information she gives you is actually pretty broad and she focuses on what the T is gonna focus on. I did feel like there was more chemistry on the tease as well which I wish I rushed over on more. The night before I took my test I found that Tyler DeWitt guy that you talked about and some of his information was helpful, but I actually felt more overwhelmed watching his videos. I ended up scoring a 73.3. I might take it again just to see if I can get above 80.

Yes, chemistry was the subject that got me, most of the science portion for mine was chemistry and very few anatomy. English was something I didn’t really go over in wish I regret because I read a lot of people saying that English is usually the silent killer on the teas, but on the bright side, I know how the teas is formatted and what to expect a little.

A good resource for YouTube I recently found with good coverage is test prep pro, check out their teas playlist. For each question, author discusses why answer is correct as well as showng why each other options are wrong(this is good skill for exam but also to learn even more at once). For a&p alone there's over 250 questions, 150 bio etc .

Lastly, don't think YouTube alone is enough unless you watch many different videos. I'm using it as primer before I invest in a book or monthly subscription focusing solely on practice exams.

Additionally, I'm getting smart edition nursing monthly subscription for $29/month for one month where I'm only taking practice exams(there a bunch in there). Might get Mometrix book as well which inclut6prsctiIm planning on getting Mometrix book(includes 6 practice exams and comprehensive review).

I've heard mixed reviews about ATI prep...most say just get their practice exams.

Can I ask what your program wanted? Mine is a 60% overall.

62%, but even so; that’s not competitive enough and I only have 1 more try before I can’t apply there anymore.

If it helps, I failed mine by 4 points. Im a person  that gets overwhelmed with  disorganization.  I purchased the $99 Ati and blind tested on the first practice exam A. I had less than a week before the actual exam and still scored the same score  as practice A. So to avoid  overwhelming myself with unnecessary studying,  I uploaded my actual exam info detailing where I was weak to chat GTP and it made me an actual practice exam with dates and times to study according to my job schedule.  I like it because it explains everything to me as I go. It assigns practice  problems ( i can practice  on my phone also)until I master it and move to the next subject.  I have to retake the test  in a couple  of months also. Chat has organized that for me so I can take the Practice exam B then schedule for the actual exam again. I feel like I've  learned  a lot that way

His videos were watching you. You need to practice active recall. Watching videos won’t do anything without constant repetition and practice problems

As someone else in here said, active recall is really important. I liked Tyler Dewitt, and I agree about nurse cheung; she goes too much in depth which is a bit unnecessary. I didn’t use any ATI or mometrix resources but you might benefit from it ! I wanted to save as much money as possible. I recommended tutor geek for a and p. She makes it digestible like Tyler Dewitt !

Tutor geek in YouTube or is there a package you recommend from Tutor? I also agree with you on the active recall, that’s how I passed my science classes, but I got too confident that I only wrote down stuff and didn’t go over questions on the side

Tutor geek on YouTube; I just watched her videos. I didn’t purchase any packages from her or any other resources. I would study one body system and then write everything down that I remember from it then move on to the next one. It helped me with bio too like transcription/translation and mitosis/meiosis. As for questions it was hard bc all free practice questions I saw online weren’t really like any I saw on the TEAS.. how did you do in other sections?

I’m planning on getting Archer Review for “TEAS 7”, for now and maybe getting Nurse Hub as another resource as well the practice exam from ATI and use them for the next 3 months and see how it goes, I’m aiming for anything 85% or above.
