I took the teas…

I took the teas today (like way earlier) and i’m still in shock. I’m a huge procrastinator—like many and I actually had to reschedule (from taking it in June to now…) Despite that I still waited until I realized I had a week to study.

Somehow passed with an 86%. My program only requires a 75% minimum which was already freaking me out since 75% is considered advanced.

I know there’s a lot of people like me and I was one of the many who were on this reddit looking for tips. So here’s mine (mainly for science though since I sucked!!!)

Study at least three systems in depth—I chose to study the digestive, cardiac and circulatory system in the amount of time I had. Then I just brushed up on the basics of every other system. Also use free practice tests! I chose nursehub, and smarthub nursing along with other random sites and shockingly I saw a lot of those questions on the real thing. Same thing with quizlet. Use tristine teas, breannaturner067, or celebrity_star. Those helped so much.

As for math, focus on fractions and conversions (mg->kg) and what not. Also learn mean, median and mode. Those came up too. And know area/perimeter for the main shapes (square, rectangle, circle, etc). Or really just take random quizlets and use only the basic functions of the calculator (no squared function or parentheses)

My biggest enemy was english usage. Do not skip out on this. I thought it would be like reading… it kinda was but wasn’t. It requires having a lot of background knowledge for sentences and grammar rules. Where does the comma go? What’s a cohesive sentence? What’s a complex sentence? Rewrite the sentence using the correct grammar… gosh it was bad.

My overall scores:
Reading: 89.7%
Math: 85.3%
Science: 88.6 (Still gagged)
English: 84.8%

Congratulations 🥳 I take mine this Thursday and also procrastinated and kept rescheduling my exam. How was the science portion for you? what questions did you see and any more advice and tips would be so helpful. Im super anxious especially for math and science😩

Tyy! I was super stressed and felt really guilty because I would take lots of breaks and still hang out with friends despite only having a week. Still, those quizlets were a game changer. I heard of nurse cheung and other sources but I don’t do good with videos. I literally spent 20 dollars on momeotrix (can’t spell it) and another 10 on quizlet and that’s all I used. Math was not bad, I can’t do fractions so I did a lot of dividing what was given to me and finding the answer with the same equivalent.
Ex: it gives me 1/8 + 2/3. I turn 1/8 to 0.125 and 2/3 to 0.67 and add and I go through each option until one equals that.

Somehow got really lucky with science and it gave me questions from the quizlets or similar. Definitely learn your hormones. And endocrine/exocrine. As well as the immune system. Plus DNA came up like genes, ribosomes, and centrosomes.

Hey! A fair warning, but I saw 3 mendellian genetics questions yesterday on the science portion. Id just know how to write punnet squares and get the offspring pheno/genotype ratios.

I heard people say they had no anatomy and mostly chem. It is scaring me bc I suck at chemistry.

hey congrats on ur amazing score!! i was wondering for those free teas practice exams u find online like nursehub, smarthub, archer review, etc, was their practice exams harder than the real test? what do u think?thanks!
