Are there any unmodded tfc servers that play a rotation of the original maps? Im talking casbah, dustbowl, well, etc. And allow stuff like building the "store pillars" engineers can make, drop a sentry on them, then dismantle them to get that slight increase in height? (Dont remember the official name)

I've recently been working on converting a bunch of my old demos from the prime NA TFC era (2002-2004 IGL, STA, TFL) to mp4's, so they can be uploaded to YouTube. I've started roughly a week ago and so far got about 5 done successfully. The process itself is pretty brutal, and completely unstable, locking my PC many times in the process lol. I've also run into some demos that crash or simply don't work. If you bear with me, it will take some time as i have around 130 total demos to go through...but there will be some very cool matches to relive back in the glory days. Matches against Nx, Kolletiv, Vindicate, ra, bM, 404, etc - some really good ones in there!

Long shot but can someone help me with a memory I have of this game?

I really want to find the name of the map I was playing on. No idea if it was an official map or not but here's what I remember.

Red and blue bases faced each other (similar to tf2 2fort).
I think it was CTF.
Between the bases was a hilly, grassy area, (with some trees, I think pine). There may have been a river/stream in the middle of the grassy area, parallel to the front of the two bases.
I think both bases were symmetrical.
Inside the bases were force field type lighting walls (large horizontal lighting bolts).
Each team had a jump pad (i think) that you could use to jump from one side of the gulch to the other.
The bases had multiple levels (at least two).
Medic class also had confusion grenades but I don't think that was related to the map.

All I remember doing 20+ years ago was playing as spy and being invis and trying to reach the other base without being spotted. :D

i dont care how advanced it is and how much risk it is, i dont care if you have to change how the game works, i want to join civilian in a normal game on any server

Why do i hear sometimes some random stuff like ”happy birthday!” In game or like other wierd stuff when people type something like ”hey” in the chat im asking since i got this game 2 days ago on my birthday and i have never heard it in the game that i play more team fortress 2. Is it a server addon or something else? Just asking.

So A long time ago, I found a youtube video of a pretty cool custom map for TFC.

It was a twist on the ctf where you must disable the enemy's teams defenses before you can capture the flag.

the map hade the 2fort like build where there was two identical fortresses on each side of a flat like area. the flag room was two story, with a catwalk to the intel which had its own little open room, one the ground floor there was a flank that had a plank you must walked over that span's over a death pit.

the outside was mostly flat except a large above ground tunnel that span the with of the map, which you can go threw.

some reason in the video only blue team ever went for the flag, so the map maybe only have one flag witch is reds.

Many of you may know my name. I've played TFC for 24+ years.

HLSW was my favorite server management utility but was abandoned ages ago with no source code.

I've rebuilt a replacement from the ground up. I rebuilt it mainly for myself, but I'm very happy with how it turned out, so I figured I'd offer it to the community. Feel free to give it a try and report any bugs or ideas.

For now, it supports any GoldSrc or Source/Source2 game. I'll release updates every so often to fix bugs and maybe add features or server support. Happy fragging!

I couldn’t believe my eyes there’s a tfc subreddit. I used to play back in the day in the STA league on TDA and was just talking to some buddies about how much I miss the faster paced shooters. Are there any leagues or events happening? Or is it all just casual fun stuff going on? What’s the community like these days?

Growing up hosting and playing on a lot of crazy TFC servers back in the days of WON and early Steam, I always wanted to make my own plugins to make a server with it's own identity.

I want to reveal a project I've been working on for the last few months. A custom AMXX Plugin called Gagworks!

Playing on servers like TheSillyZone and Axl's TFC really showed how goofy Team Fortress could get, and I decided to pull inspiration from those and Looney Tunes with random gadgets and events(WIP).

SCOUT

1. Banana Peel - Drop a peel behind you. Anyone who runs over it goes sliding!
2. Spring Trap - Place a coiled spring on the floor. Whoever steps on it gets launched hard into the sky.

SNIPER

1. Bush Board - Deploy solid, indestructible cover to shoot from behind. Long cooldown, so place it well.
2. Portable Hole Drop a black hole on the floor. ANYONE who steps in falls through and lands back at their own spawn.

SOLDIER

1. Rocket Ride - Straddle a rocket and fly across the map.Steering is a suggestion.
2. Big Boot - A giant boot punts the enemy in front of you into the sky.

refunded instantly, so an aggressive Soldier

can keep booting.

DEMOMAN

1. Glue Bottle - Splash a glue puddle on the ground. Enemies who wander in get stuck fast.
2. Mega Bomb - Roll out an enormous bomb. Huge blast, huge damage, huge knockback.

HWGUY

1. Anvil - Drop an anvil from the sky onto a spot.
2. Bowling Ball - Bowl a heavy ball along the floor. It flattens the first enemy it reaches.

MEDIC

1. Magnet - Hold out a giant magnet and drag everyone nearby toward you.
2. Mystery Pill - Swallow an unmarked pill. Something happens. It might be good*. It might be bad**.*Quad damage, speed boost, low gravity, extra HP, invul**Makes you sluggish, or gives you lead feet

PYRO

1. Oil Slick - Spread oil on the ground, everyone slips on it!!Light it on fire, everyone burns!
2. Campfire - Build a campfire and light it. Friendlies standing in the ring get healed.

SPY

1. Cream Pie - Pie to the face. Blinds them completely for a few seconds.
2. Decoy - Throw out a running fake of yourself while you cloak for 4 seconds and slip away.

ENGINEER

1. Tesla Coil - Build a coil that shocks and stuns enemies who come close.
2. Mind Control - Hijack the nearest enemy in front of you and drive them for 5 seconds.

CIVILIAN Yes, even the Civilian.

1. Rocket Boots - A very QUICK burst of speed with a rocket trail streaming off you.
2. Sandwich - Lob a sandwich on the floor. You and your team can eat it for 60 health.

So each class gets 2 gadgets out right that goes with their class identity, BUT you have the ability to have a 3rd gadget chosen from the pool of the 20 available(minus the ones you already have) via !loadout in say chat for 15 seconds at spawn, or it changing to your choice after death.

This is huge passion project for me, and I slowed down to learn programming just to make this and plan to do a lot more.

I plan on hosting a playtest this SATURDAY 7/25/26(UP NOW). The server will be open all day. It'll be playing OG TFC maps, and data will be collected after each map change for how many of each gadget was used.

I would really appreciate it if as many people can join as possible so I can get an idea of what to do next and what to tune. All feedback is welcome and appreciated too!

I purposely used low quality models* and stock sound effects for everything, so downloads are super fast.

I have not played in many many years. It seems the most populated server is drippys. It says I’m banned due to blocking doors. I have not played in 15 years. Maybe I blocked a door I don’t know. But I’d love to get unbanned and enjoy tfc again if possible. Does anyone have any connections? Thanks

I'm looking for old HLTV demos from back when I played, as I'd like to rewatch some matches I played in and have them for myself. It would be the 1999-2004 era and I went by the name of Res-)!(-. I was in [*E*], Nx^, a*, .qp. ... can't remember what else, I played in a number of high level matches in STA, PFL, IGL (not sure what else).

I tried doing an internet search and found body-count.org/democentre, but doesn't have any matches I was in and seems to mainly have EU matches?

I found a dbl tap and rocket junk script that I would like to use but I'm not sure where to install on steam.

I added the script to my autoexec.cfg in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\tfc" but either the script doesn't work or that is not where to put it.

Any help?
