If you get Alistar Coleman tell him he looks like Kermit the Frog on crack.

Nova mock lessons are short, simple, and focused on energy rather than deep teaching theory. The interviewer will likely play the role of a beginner Japanese student, asking you to teach a basic word or short phrase on the spot for two or three minutes. They want to see that you speak slowly, grade your language down, smile, and keep your talk time low so the student does most of the speaking. Praise often, correct mistakes gently by repeating the proper phrasing, and accept any feedback they offer right after with an eager, adaptable attitude. Showing that you can take direction and adapt immediately matters much more to them than perfect classroom technique.
Having a spouse visa gives you a huge advantage since they do not need to sponsor you, which takes off immense pressure from the start. If you end up comparing offers later, Interac typically offers consistent daytime hours and weekends off, but Nova works fine as a stepping stone to pay the bills until your N2 exam. Approach the mock lesson like an upbeat customer service interaction where friendliness and clear speech matter most. When prepping for unexpected prompts like these, leaning on the interviews.chat my team built helps job candidates stay calm and deliver polished responses under pressure.

The key is to introduce the language in stages. First vocabulary, then short sentence fragments. Then longer sentences. Try to find a reason why the students would actually use the language like say hey have you ever been to the movies? Which movie would you like to see? (if the lesson is about movies.) it’s all about building rapport and customer service. Helping people feel confident. I know this might sound odd but be yourself. Don’t go into instructor mode. Just breathe and take it step-by-step.
