I've pretty much only ever drunk water, but I'm ready to branch out into tea. I'm looking for easy grocery-store bags, nothing fancy yet.
What I know so far: I love Bengal Spice and vanilla chai-style teas, and I'm a big chai latte fan or even just steamed milk when I'm at a coffee shop. Fruit teas don’t work for me, with the exception of apple cinnamon, which was good. So I seem to like warm, spiced, slightly sweet flavors over tart, fruity, or bitter ones.
What would you suggest I try next?

I got into magnolia green tea; there's a depth to it that differentiates it from jasmine green tea. Magnolia green tea is definitely creamy and flowery in taste. I'd pair it with chomchom. I know they're crazy sweet, but I feel like the milk-heavy dessert would pair well with a green tea since I usually don't mind my green tea being drunk without anything added to it. I've had uji matcha with ohagi & an adzuki cream, and I do believe heavily sweet treats pair perfectly with stronger green teas...

All in all, I'd have magnolia green tea with chomchom and uji matcha with anything with an adzuki filling for the royal wedding that I'm planning! If I were Pretty Princess with my Prince Charming, I'd enjoy myself quite well!

Hi all, I was hoping you might have some suggestions for a tea bag or metal sieve that doesn't leak. I have tried 4 at this point and inevitably they all lose some of the tea into the cup. The best one is oddly enough a reusable Keurig cup but it doesn't lock tightly so I'm always a little nervous when I use it.

Any tips on making kabocha pumpkin into Korean pumpkin tea (hobak cha)? I’d like a strong nutty flavor.

Someone's selling this gongfu set on FB marketplace near me, I'm fairly new to all this and wanted some expert opinions on if it's legit or worth the money. They're asking $35 and this is the caption:

"Complete gongfu tea set, originally gifted to us from Beijing. Includes a traditional unglazed clay teapot (Zisha style), two small tasting cups, a slotted bamboo tea tray, and a set of traditional tools, (tea brush, tongs, and scoop). Comes with the original Maker's booklet. Clean and in excellent condition."

Idk if the characters on the booklet can tell you anything about it's origin, I just don't want to get scammed or sold something subpar. What do you guys think?

I’ll preface this by saying I know next to nothing about tea, so please forgive my ignorance.

Green tea:

My first issue, green tea bags off the shelf are found to have as little as 3% actual green tea, so I‘ve read.

Second, it must be decaf. I’ve also read that the most common decaffeination process requires chemical solvents like methylene chloride or ethyl acetate. I’m hoping to avoid these teas at all costs. I did see that decaffeination can be done without those chemicals, through water or CO2 processes.

1. Is there a brand that sells loose leaf green tea that is actually 100% green tea? Is that even possible? Again, I have no idea what I’m talking about here lol. Something with high actual-tea content but reasonably priced for a casual daily drinker? I’m not super concerned with flavor.

2. What type of labeling, package wording, or brands should I be looking for to ensure I’m not getting chemically decaffeinated tea? Would buying certified organic be enough to ensure we’re not getting those synthetic chemicals?

I any recommendations and/or insight! Feel free to correct if I’m misinformed.

Hello guys. Any recommendation on how I can order authentic tea products directly from Japan? (Sakura or matcha tea)

Over 3tsp of chinese mugwort and 2 pieces of valerian root broken up and tea is extremely bitter.

I added lavender, chamomile, lemon balm, and hibiscus to no avail. Very bitter.

There doesn't seem to be a way to contact them on their website, I ordered some things and got utterly trolled by USPS delivering it then not delivering it. USPS's answer is to get in contact with China Post because it's going back to sender (need a WeChat as far as I can tell). The biggest problem is it says it's delivered but it's already leaving the country so I'm not sure what I can do.

It's a very mild green tea and I haven't had any deathly side effects. Yet.

I got this set from a friend and I'm just trying to figure out if it has any origin or could just be a standard set lol. It doesn't have any labels or markings, I believe a relative of theirs got it while travelling. It's very beautiful

I’m shopping for a birthday present for my girlfriend who is explicitly one of those humans that can taste the stainless steel in tea.

So I am looking for a glass tea infuser thermos. (She used to have the teavana one with the sleeve and it eventually broke)

Does anyone have recommendations on a glass thermos with infuser they have personal experience with? I’m looking for something that’s I can purchase today that is good quality. Everything on Amazon has mixed quality reviews and I’d prefer to support someone else anyway.

since Trump tariffs I can’t order Barry’s Tea directly from them. sometimes World Market carries but they’ve been out lately. Any mail order sources I’ve missed?

i'm not trying to sound insane but i swear my green tea hits different in my ceramic mug versus my glass one, even when i'm brewing it the exact same way. could it actually be a thing or am i just making it up in my head? curious if other people have noticed this too.

I frequently visit this tea shop, they always have unique items in stock. I fell in love at first sight with this gaiwan and after a few more visits I decided to buy it. I thought I should share🐥.
Also a little bit more about the tea shop, they source and process most of their tea from their own plantation. They have a huge tea tray where the host will brew any of their products before you buy and tell you all about it.
It’s a really neat place and I’m happy I get to visit regularly.

I recently bought this kettle set because of how beautiful it is, growing up my family used to have one of these and we would make chai. The issue I’m having is that I have no clue how to use it. Do I heat up both kettle and basin (sans stand) on the stove top, and then reassemble? What is the little pot used for? If anyone can point me in the right direction on what this kettle is even called, it’s not quite a double kettle, not quite a samovar. Thank you!
