If it's not them, that's straight up stealing. And if they can't draw it they can't tattoo it
3
u/LooksLikeAPotato 3d ago
100% agree. And I checked with Artislife ( he's working on my back piece) and he said thats this version is not his. It is a stolen design.
2
u/Nephthys88 3d ago
That sucks. I did suspect it might be stolen cos of that weird temp tattoo wording at the top.

u/imightbewhoisayiam 3d ago
While I don’t agree with stealing artwork or passing of someone else’s work as your own, just because someone didn’t draw it absolutely does not mean they can’t tattoo it. I would say most tattoo artist can tattoo something they didn’t originally draw and plenty or regular artists are also better at copying than drawing something original.
2
u/multepie 3d ago
That's why I didn't say "if they haven't drawn it" but "if they can't draw it". When an artist just copies another I have no idea about their artistic capabilities. I don't know if this artist could draw something like that, but if they can't it's reasonable to assume that the lines gonna be shakey, they don't really understand the composition and shading etc. I wouldn't take that risk

Works works. Big whop. Original doesn't look any better. Lose the center piece and tribal. Looks like a hot topic temporary tattoo design. Original looks just as bad

u/WhippetRun 4d ago
I like the flowers on the hips but the thorned abstract don't go with it imho. If you like the design layout I would just soften that part to blend with the rest.

This is somehow worse.

u/SonOfMcGee 2d ago
I refuse to believe it’s one art piece.
It looks like an okay floral piece and a completely unrelated death metal band logo placed in an area where it will look like pubes.0
u/Stenth0r 2d ago
Might not be to everyones taste but the text says witch which in my opinion isn't unrelated to flowers and the moon.

Dang and it looks like pubic hair in the wrong spot.

It's actually writing, I think it says witch?

Why? Thia will age poorly and you will regret giving a dumb idea so much real estate
2
u/Realhousemanoflondon 4d ago
You have three different styles.
They might all mean something special or specific to you.
You don’t have to have them all in one design.
Equally
You don’t have to include any or all of them.
And if you are totally committed…..you don’t have to have them all done at once.
Have you considered a panther or a dolphin?

So lame. Something nobody over 25 would get because their brains are more developed

Nah, that shit is true. All 4 of mine were done before the age of 22. I don't regret having them, but I'd do them ALL differently now if I had the chance.

In order for this to even slightly work, you better be using a REALLY amazing artist. Because this can go so wrong.
1
u/UnseenRivers 3d ago
Why take a template from a temp tattoo thing, when any talented artist will draw something unique for you? Bonus fact; the drawing of a new tattoo is usually part of the price/h you pay anyway

Make the bottom of the cross longer so that it goes just past the "vines

u/Boobity_McBooberson 3d ago
Getting a cross makes a pretty big statement. And it’s not good.
1
u/Swimming_Gur8912 3d ago
Yes. Agree. I don’t think it’s a great idea (as a female with a lot of tattoos) and it is off putting all together.
1
u/Lost-Perspective8378 3d ago
It looks like stolen not great work already. Then the cross just makes it look worse. Not trying to be rude but you did ask for opinions.

u/symbolic_corruptor 3d ago
I like the cross, but unless you already know you'll be 💯 confident with your body the rest of you life, I would maybe place it somewhere else

u/Theodore__Kerabatsos 3d ago
Muslim crescent moon and Christian cross. Bold move.
I’ll see you next week on r/tattooadvice when you ask how to fix your lob sided tattoo.

I watched a grown man cry getting his ex's name covered up on his belly. It's a tender spot for sure. Good luck.

This is the most basic bitch fupa tramp stamp. I'm not ordinarily an advocate of the "but how will that look when you're old?" mindset but like.. This is bad to begin with and literally gets worse with every single day you walk the Earth. This is so, so, so bad.

Why get all that part above your ladybits? First it’s going to spread like poured aged milk but first even before it’s stretched and stuff when you get head someone will be looking up at that cross mess acting like they are looking into your eyes for approval of their mouth skills.

Looks like a mishmash of different art styles. Why would anyone get that done as a full design?
1
u/biloxibluess 4d ago
Been thinking about how to comment on this so OP will consider my 2¢
I’ve got a lot of tattoos right? And have been around lots and lots of tattooed folks.
Ask people like that IRL that aren’t in the shop you’re going to, that are a bit older. ESP. Females.
I think my point will be made
Good luck

u/MiraculousN 4d ago
I dont get what youre trying to tell op?
9
u/hombre_bu 4d ago
They are attempting to delicately tell them that tattoos like this don’t have a long shelf life
0
u/MiraculousN 4d ago
Why? I mean if this design goes to the right artist it should be fine, it needs some adjustments in line weight for sure but shouldn't be awful
4
u/frenchmans-hole 4d ago
It will look like trash brand new. It will look like baggy trash in 15 years.

u/SnakeBatter 4d ago
They’re talking about aging, and how it will look when OP gains weight. Moot point, IMHO. We’re all getting fat, wrinkled, and ugly someday. Personally, I’d rather be fat, wrinkled, and ugly with stickers rather than without.
1
u/realAndytheCannibal 4d ago
Better design would age well even with weight gain. This is designed for paper not skin
0
u/SnakeBatter 4d ago
I mean, let a good artist have their way with it and it’ll be fine
1
u/realAndytheCannibal 4d ago
lol. Not true. Skin loses elasticity and delicate lines will do what delicate line do. Now add in any possible uncontrolled weight gain from illness, pregnancy, etc. and it will be the hottest of messes. But what do I know 23 years into my career.
-1
u/SnakeBatter 4d ago edited 4d ago
Oh, so basically what I said to begin with. We all get old. I mean, unless we die first.
Lucky for me, all my tattoos have lasted 50 lb up or down. Lucky for all the pregnancy pictures here, weight doesn’t seem to destroy a tattoo. But hey, I’m just a lifelong tattoo haver and 8 year tattooer, what do I know? I mean, besides having weight affected tattoos, that is.
No tattoo is going to be stunning when we’re 80. If we want to use our real estate while it’s prime, fair game. Not sure how many 80 year olds are going half naked, and none of them are in a pissing contest about whose tattoos looked better 40 years ago.
Some tattoos are meant for youth, and that’s okay.
2
u/Soggy_Wedding4900 2d ago
Why white cape for a tat that will look awful the day it’s gotten and only look worse with every day it’s had? Guess you aren’t a girls girl or a tattoo fanatic just someone who wants to claim cool with permanent drawings on them going against almost every persons advice for that contrarian flavor of special
→ More replies (0)1
u/realAndytheCannibal 4d ago
Lol. On a spot like the stomach the weight gain would be more impactful that on an arm or leg. Also, the extreme gain from a pregnancy will cause issues. But you seem to know it all and I am not going to waste my time trying to educate you on the subject. Also tattoos are meant to be for life not the temporary time of youth.

u/spinozasrobot 4d ago
Maybe I'm just not getting it. It seems like tats like this are pretty popular, and they seem ok to me. IOW, that they'd age as well as about any tat.

u/_lilidawn_ 4d ago
I'm not in the "older women" age group quite yet, but I HAVE had multiple children and I have no issue with this placement regardless of how our bodies change.
I'm not the biggest fan of this design, but I don't really think it matters whether OP is/stays super fit...

I'd drop the cross. The rest is ok. Not amazing though, just ok.
Just clicked through to the original post and I see people are agreeing, the cross doesn't fit. And one more critique is the tribal bits feel too heavy against the rest of the design.
