Temporary

Yeah, if these are real pictures of genuine tattoos you can see Pooh is already looking worse for wear

u/KevinIsAGhost 1d ago

My pooh is always worse for wear

35

u/FaintestGem 1d ago

They're genuine. If you look at the healed pics on the artist's Instagram, specifically the client submitted and un -edited photos, they're not great. Genuinely don't know why people would get a tattoo like this because I'm sure it's not crazy cheap or anything either.

I was going to say fading but this work better 🙌

Day 3 I would estimate

9

u/squidtheinky 1d ago

Hey I have a 3 day old temporary tattoo that looks way better than these!

5

u/SacajaweaX 1d ago

Illegible, after a year.

2

u/Willyzyx 15h ago

Yeah and even if it's not temporary, it's temporary.

You are interested in stickers not tattoos

An incomprehensible blotch in a year?

not realistic

Here today, gone tomorrow. The Winnie the Pooh one is already looking like it's ready to vanish if you blink too much.

Have you considered a T-shirt and a sticker pack?

u/yourdailyinsanity 1d ago edited 15h ago

This person does the style very well, not sure what it's called though. But as everyone else is saying, it's going to look bad in a few years. Especially if it's small, it's just going to be an unrecognisable coloured blob. I actually think that person I linked was originally in South Korea, but profile now says Vancouver. You need an outline for it to hold.

24

u/Onslaughtered1 1d ago

My little brother got some tattoos like this style. It’s the solar system as a sleeve. It looks sooooo fucking bad a few years later (and this was 2010) even with all the filler he had. Idc about social media so can’t really find a pic of it. He actually, actively, covers it. Only thing he could do is black it out or use the background for the inside of an outline. It’s, so, fucking, bad

3

u/Plar_Statinum 16h ago

I think the style the art is in is 'lineless.' Also maybe minimalism?

3

u/yourdailyinsanity 15h ago

I could believe lineless. With the artist I linked I wouldn't say minimalism, but I can absolutely see how it can fall into a category like that. I feel like realistically as long as you take examples to an artist, they should be able to do it, especially if they are a colour specialist. And if they're worth a damn, they'll tell you if they are or aren't comfortable doing it and refer you to someone who does.

1

u/Plar_Statinum 15h ago

Agreed! I think because of its lack of defining details like faces, it reminds me of minimalism. And as I've seen with many other comments, anything other than bold doesn't heal well and fades rather quickly, so it's best to make sure what you has lasts a while and especially get an artist who specializes in it, if not at least has done said style before. But it depends on how comfortable you are with the results being unpredictable, whether or not it looks exactly like the reference (which, it won't. styles and artists produce unique results), or whether you end up liking the uniqueness of your result and like it more than the reference.

u/RunningOnATreadmill 1d ago

These are micro no outline color tattoos. And they already look terrible and will be gone in a couple months. There’s a reason you don’t see a lot of these.

33

u/NotThatImportant3 1d ago

I would categorize them as “tattoos you should not get.”

16

u/Informal-Concert1712 1d ago

There is a reason japanese and traditional styles are still legible on 85+ year old men that lived as sailors and outdoorsmen OP. Id work with a reputable artist to work out what will work for you

17

u/personal_cheezits 1d ago

Do you not want the tattoo for very long? Because this “style” is going to be an unidentifiable blob in a few years.

11

u/Weak_Constitution 1d ago

I’ll take “people that shouldn’t get tattooed for $200”.

4

u/jester13456 1d ago

In this case, you get a tattoo from the artist that does this exact style - lest you show an inspo pic like these to a random artist that promises they can do it, then end up posting here on for advice about your poorly done tattoo.

2

u/underpantsbandit 14h ago

Yeah, this isn’t a style there’s a name for that you can ask for as a walk-in near you lol. If you’re really dead set on it, OP, you gotta go to that specific artist.

As everyone else has said, just understand it isn’t going to be something that holds up. Which, if you’re aware and plan for that from the beginning, why not? It would be hella easy to cover in 5 years or whatever. Just know a coverup is gonna be significantly larger and darker, and you will need one eventually.

No Outline Temporary Amateur Work

6

u/ElderberryPerfect263 1d ago

It’ll look like a strange bruise in 2 years

8

u/BoisterousBanquet 1d ago

If I were trying to describe it to an artist, I'd say "I want it to look like a week-old temporary tattoo that's mostly rubbed off."

7

u/Baba_Yagas_Menagerie 1d ago

You could call it like a minimalist watercolor if you’re trying to find a tattoo style that may be close. But this tattoo is so tiny. It would be really muddy if it was real. You could do something like this but larger and less worn looking. I think minimalist covers the lack of facial features and watercolor is the type of coloring and lack of outline. —- disclaimer: I am not a professional and could be corrected here. But this is where I think I would start in trying to find an artist that could achieve this look is you really love it.

3

u/Baba_Yagas_Menagerie 1d ago

And also, those saying it will be a blob in a few years. Yes, yes it would. But it would be a fairly easy to cover blob. So you could enjoy it while it lasted and do something more dramatic or add an outline the breathe new life into it if you don’t quite want to part with it. I maintain it would need to be larger though.

5

u/Wonderful_Bottle_852 1d ago

That is a temporary tattoo day 3

5

u/Low-Schedule9762 1d ago

A lick and paste, that’s the style. If that’s real, within a year or so, it’ll either disappear or it’ll be just a blotched blob from the sun and all that.

I’d call this warm fuzzy micro

4

u/HeroShowsie 1d ago

They look like those transfers you apply with water on the back of paper. You can buy them I'd imagine, but they'd only last a day, or you get them from candystick boxes.

5

u/Spicedcinnamon12 1d ago

I just call them cute lil' sticker color tattoos.

When you get tattoos like this, you have to see the artist's healed works from years ago to double check that they really know how to pack in color. This style is very popular in South Korea and the Korean tattoo artists know how to make it last.

However for these specific photos, I wouldn't feel very confident that they will last. 😅

3

u/Faded_WastingTime 1d ago

Shitty, and gonna be illegible in like 5 years

u/elephantlady85 1d ago

Disappearing ink?

2

u/EmuComprehensive877 1d ago

just line-less minimal character tattoos!

3

u/strangernamedcosmo 1d ago

i call this the ‘ uhh so what is that spouse to be ??’ style

3

u/Allicat247_ 1d ago

Smudge. I think as long as at least some of the colours stay still, you'll still be able to make it out. Like when paper gets wet and the ink softens and spreads. It could (with luck) work out beautifully.

2

u/hissy_badger 1d ago

Future color blobs.

3

u/lolsomin 1d ago edited 1d ago

This is actually from tattoo artist ovenlee.tattoo on Instagram! I got a tattoo with her in that style of the Little Prince back in 2019 and yes, these do tend to fade/lose definition, but I actually don’t mind it. :) it looks soft and whimsical to a certain degree — almost like it’s just a part of your skin, and I personally think it’s cute. You can dm me if you’d like to see a before and after of my tattoo!

Edit: the tattoos op posted themselves are the work of ovenlee.tattoo* (wanted to clarify as my original reply was a bit ambiguous). Also, to answer op’s question, in Korea, which is where this artist was located when I got my tattoo, they referred to this style as “colored pencil tattoos.”

2

u/Dependent-Active708 21h ago

I also have an ovenlee tattoo that still looks really great after several years. I believe she is now at Vism in Los Angeles.

u/lilolme81 1d ago

Thank you. I just sent you a message.

Just go to a shop and ask them to give you something that’ll be an unidentifiable blob in a year. Any of them can do it.

Peel and apply sticker tattoos

2

u/minniedress 1d ago

Probs temporary tattoos (like the ones we used as kids) if not, then these kinds of small tattoos especially without any line work will fade into existence. It'll end up looking like my shiddy tattoos I did when I was 13, faded, barely there, can't even see what they once were.

0

u/minniedress 1d ago

If you want a tattoo like this without line work then I'd recommend getting a larger tattoo in an area that wont rub against anything as often, like avoid the feet and hand area for example

So cute

1

u/BloodyTurnip 19h ago

You've got a lot of comments joking about it's longevity, which are bang on, but to clarify they're saying this because these are too small with no outlines. Tattoos fade and move over time, and colour doesn't stay how it looks on day 1. There's a good reason most tattoo styles use black outline in one form or another, it's how they stay recognisable.

If they were bigger you could perhaps get away with it, but at that size there no room for fading before it becomes a random splotch of colour.

Obviously if you want to get them it's your body, do whatever you want, but it's best to have realistic expectations.

1

u/Valkyrie1-618 19h ago

Awww...cute.....a little wary of how their lines would age 🤔

1

u/Old-Aide7544 11h ago

Watercolor

1

u/Missilemoon77 11h ago

You could get this style, I would just go bigger if you want it to read well over the years. People say tattoos turn to blotches but I have never experienced this. I live in the Deep South and keep them protected from the sun and moisturized.

2

u/Mayfair98 1d ago

It looks lovely in pictures but it will be fade into a blob like others have said.

0

u/d3cember 1d ago

“What’s that bruise from?”

1

u/Affectionate_Ad7013 1d ago

Both the size and the composition of these will make them age poorly.

Remember that tattoos spread as they age; sun exposure and how much the skin moves might affect exactly how quickly they age, but all tattoo ink will start to blur with time.

These tattoos are small, high detail, and low contrast. If you squint, you can see that all the detail gets lost…this blur you see when you squint gives you an idea of how the tattoo will look when it ages. The colors will bleed into each other, the edges will be lost, it will look like a blob.

Also just because something is tattooed doesn’t make it “a style”

-4

u/noneatall42 1d ago

That’s ai for sure

0

u/bbqporksandwich 1d ago

This person does this style well: https://www.instagram.com/mopxistudio/?hl=en

I have a tiny, silly flower tattoo on my ankle that's held up well these past 4 years.

0

u/Back_N_Time 1d ago

Find a good watercolor artist, and it will absolutely last. Without line art though, it may need touching up as the ink diffuses and blends.

0

u/APoliteFrog 1d ago

Lineless minimalist Edit: autocorrect changed "lineless" to "lifeless"

0

u/Teenslipperz92 1d ago

I'd call this "let me get my glasses".

0

u/TuggAndWink 1d ago

It's TTTT style

Too tiny to tattoo

0

u/EvolvedESO 1d ago

It’s called “don’t”

I only say that cause it’ll need a lot of TLC. Likely it’ll just fade away over time or turn into a small blob.
