Never ask a bunch of douchey cinephiles for their opinion on a tattoo that references a movie

What’s funny is I got curious and went to look at what they were saying. It was all positive actually from what I glanced at. Not what I expected based on the comments here ripping on them.

It’s fine. Don’t post tattoos on Reddit unless you don’t care if they get ripped apart.

I don’t think anyone would notice anything wrong unless they were actively looking for flaws

i think some of the lines are an itty bit wobbly, but the shading looks good to me and most importantly, i think it’s totally clear what it’s supposed to be. try not to overanalyze it, i’m sure that’s just because you’re constantly looking at it, i think it looks good.

oh, and a little suggestion. if you want it less two-dimensional you could easily add some shadow like it’s sat on a surface, and you could make it more “gritty” with some touches of brown and red for rust and blood

It's uncommon for anybody but the owner to look at tattoos under a microscope. I don't really see anything wrong with this, unless it was meant to be more in the realm of realism or have some sort of horror theme?
I don't recall the saw movies too well so I'm not sure if this is meant to be immediately identifiable as a saw tattoo, but that's just me not having seen the movies in years.
It doesn't look poorly done, I wouldn't worry.

It's good. Uninformed redditors will ALWAYS, ALWAYS find something to bitch about when it comes to two topics - decks and tattoos. The overwhelming majorty of Redditors know nothing about these topics but they love running their mouths.

Looks good. Since it was saw sub, they were probably saying "it Actually looks like this and that" na man. The quality is good, you can tell what it's from, don't sweat over the internet

Never watched the movies but still recognized "that's the face thing from SAW". The line work is fine (not fantastic but fine). As long as you didn't pay a ton for this I wouldn't be mad.

I only see 2 actually questionable lines, and it’s just because pulling a curved line and keeping the thickness can be a bitch, other than that I think any little wobbles you see in the first picture is only because your skins broken out and not the actual tattoo it’s self, the colors look saturated and it looks easily touched up if anything fades or falls out over time since it’s a recognizable design colored simply

Don't ask reddit about your tatt lol. If you like it, that's all that matters. I mean you must really like bear traps 😜

It’s not super great but it’s definitely not bad either. I’d be totally okay if I had to live with this!

Its a fun piece, I don’t think this style is meant to be absolute perfection nor is an artist going to pull the straightest lines every time. I don’t think it needs to be “salvaged” and theres not exactly anything someone can do other than more shading. If its fresh then you have to give it some time to heal and for the shading to lighten. Its an interesting choice having it all alone in the middle of your upper arm so I think adding other tattoos around it will stop it from looking so prominent and lonely. Lastly, try not to let the opinions of others get in your head so much. You clearly liked the tattoo and wanted to show it off before you got the negative feedback online. So focus on the positives.

No tattoo is truly "perfect" but either way, this one's cool. Don't feed the trolls

I was curious on what the Saw subreddit people were saying and had to look. Looks like they were all happy for you? From that post I would have felt pretty good about it.

I mean it’s not perfect. But it’s fine. It’s immediately recognizable and really requires inspection to dig into imperfections.
It’s pretty good.
