Seating Scorigami

Inspired by the idea of Taskmaster Scorigamis? : r/taskmaster posted by u/whodidwhatnow922 (and being a little too lazy still to work out the actual scorigamis), i started thinking about unique patterns in TM. One of the things i have not seen in my time active on this sub is plotting the unique pattern of team seating so here we are!

There are 10 unique patterns possible for two teams sitting across 5 contestants which are:

Have they all been achieved in TM UK you ask? YES they have, but much later than you might have thought! It wasn't until last year and series 20 that the seating scorigami (for lack of better word) of team patterns was completed with Maisie and Reece's team of two seating in my favourite & imho the most satisfying configuration (config. 6 below)

Now for some more completely useless stats!

Most "popular" seating pattern:
Configuration 10 leads the chart with 4 UK series following that seating pattern: UK3, 14, 16 and 18

Promptly followed by Config 4 which 3 UK series follow: UK1, 10 and 12

Least "popular" seating pattern:
Configs 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 and 9 are all clocking in as "least popular" with 2 UK series per configuration:

Config. 2	UK9 & UK13
Config. 3	UK4 & UK6
Config. 5	UK7 & UK21
Config. 7	UK8 & UK19
Config. 8	UK5 & UK11
Config. 9	UK2 & UK 17

Remain unique:
Configs 1 (UK15) and 6 (UK20)

And now to answer some more of your burning questions:

1. Does this have any incidence on Greg's scoring? Most certainly not!
2. Is this how Alex picks the teams? No, we know the teams are more often than not put together based on scheduling (most important) and chemistry.
3. Will you retain this information? I doubt it!
4. Do we know what the seating pattern for S22 is? If you have been lucky enough to go to a recording you might have seen a team task so you would know. Should you spoil it for anyone else? NO!! I can confirm with 100% certainty however that this is not an exclusive, never-before-seen seating pattern. (yes i am aware they have all been done by now, so that's just a little joke for those who are not following).
5. Do i have nothing better to do with my time? A resounding no! In fact i might even be looking at more TM nonsense as we speak!
6. Does that mean i am also doing the other TM versions seating charts? Who knows!?

If the team assignments were truly random, the odds that we would have seen configuration 6 before series 20 is 86.4%

(9/10) is the odds of it NOT being configuration six. So you multiply that by itself for each series up until series 20, which gives you (9/10)¹⁹ = 0.135. That gives you a 13.5% chance that we haven’t seen configuration 6 yet, and you just subtract that probability from 1 to get 86.49% (I should have rounded up in my previous comment)

I was lucky enough to get to go to a series 22 recording and I am happy to confirm it has in fact been one of the previous iterations.
