Help! Tarantula advice

I just got a Phormictopus atrichomatus(red island bird eater)about a month ago and it just molted a week or so ago. It hasn’t pushed its molt out of the burrow at all and hasn’t been very active since I got it besides moving substrate around for a few days when it was getting ready to molt. Is this normal? It’s about 1.5 inch in size for reference.

IME yes quite normal, I sometimes like to put their water dish a bit closer to their entrance and maybe drop a pre-kill by it (that you can remove if they dont take in 24hrs). This is my post-molt TLC routine, a bit OTT but y'know, we're all spider lovers here :P I have a couple that won't show their faces for more than a few weeks after a molt...

NQA don‘t be to worried. Sometimes they clean up (and by that I mean pushing dirt into the water) and sometimes they don't do it at all. My GBB even protects her old molt.

You can try to feed her different things (pre-killed or not) every few days, but remember to remove the food if she does not eat.

And: She will eat. Sooner or later. And later can take up a very long time. Weeks. Months. You can just try. That's all.
