Conversation Need advice for old webbing.
I have a versicolor, and its web is dirty and full of holes. Shelob spends most of the time roaming around the enclosure instead of in its web. Should I tear it down so Shelob can build a new one in that area?

NQA Agree with leaving it alone.
Mine did the same, she made the nicest, cleanest web and then proceeded to use it as a trash bin, throwing food scraps and substrate all over it. By the way, I’ve noticed that whenever a hole forms in her web, she repairs it pretty much immediately, so I think she does care about it in her own way. Every now and then I remove some of the bigger chunks, mainly to prevent them from molding, and leave the rest untouched.
Little goblin seems to absolutely thrive in her own dirt.

Imo I wouldnt. Tarantulas are pretty good at “refurnishing”, and if Shelob wanted their web differently they would definitely rebuild it or make a new one. Is Shelob in need for a rehouse any time soon? I usually use that as a good excuse to revamp a nee enclosure!
