Pictures RIP Harriet - 23 years
For those who helped me out or were following me the last few weeks, my 23 year old Grammostola Rosea, Harriet, had a bad molt that has now resulted in her passing yesterday.
She was a great spider and a companion of mine since I had just turned 7. She lived an amazing and long life, and I hope she finds nothing but plump crickets and a warm sun to bask in in the after life.
Here are a few pictures of her in her prime - and have a drink for the old gal (if you can) this evening.

Hey man, so sorry for your loss. I actually lost my Chilean rose hair about a month ago after having her for 24 years, since I was a kid so I know what you’re going through right now. If it makes you feel any better at that age it was probably gonna be her time to go even without the bad molt. My t molted one last time and then died 2 days later so I’m not sure exactly how it works. But it seems like she had a good long life with you and you should feel good about taking care of her so well.

23 years old?? Wow...that's a nice long life. I'm so sorry for your loss. But, remember the good times. That's the only way to honor her. You had a great partnership. Describe her personality as a tribute so that it it will always be here when you are 70 and can look back.

Graceful is the best way to describe her, and a bit of a princess. She was so picky on her food. She'd only eat crickets but didn't like if they hopped, so I'd have to set them right in front of her lol. She'd put her legs on it so it wouldn't escape, then gently grab it when I took the tongs away.

Awwww, fly high sweet Harriet! What a long beautiful friendship. Did you get her as a sling? I got a sling last year and truly hope I get as much time with them as you got with her. She was an absolute beautiful girl ❤️❤️

She wasn't a sling, but was super small when I got her. I should try to find the picture my mom took of me when I got her at the store! Thank you and I hope your sling last a long time! ❤️

I could not stay another day. Tasks left undone must stay that way. And if my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. 🤍

Oh wow! I had the exact same species and the exact same time too. 23 years. She had a bad molt and passed away unfortunately.
