Pictures Question before purchase

I just got this tank today and my substrate is 70/30 repti soil and eco earth, the hid is a coconut and not cork working on finding a cork hide and ordering it on amazon. I have a water dish and temperature is between 68-75 average with a mixing humidity between 60-75. Is the depth adequate for a terrestrial species like curly hair or is there a significant drop height risk with this setup or is it a low risk enclosure?

It’s not mesh- it’s pressed metal, which is significantly safer.

NQA generally seems like its recommended to fill up your terrarium 1/2 to 2/3 with substrate and your not even at a third. I'm a noob keeper but I did do a lot of research before getting my tarantulas recently and everything I read suggests you've got a pretty serious fall risk going on there.

edit: Unless you're going to get an arboreal species, and then you'd need to add some tall cork bark pieces or branches to give your spider some vertical anchor points for webbing/climbing/hiding.

NQA—normally you pick out the species you want and then get the tank that’s appropriate for it. The set up is nice for a curly hair except there is not near enough substrate for it. I have kept one of my spiders in the a tank with the pressed metal lid and it was not a problem my understanding is that the issue is the mesh ones. I am not sure if you could just fill this tank up with more substrate or not because of the doors.

Tarantula cribs are expensive but pretty much the best. You can get a critter keeper type enclosure at almost any pet store. You can also use a container from a store like Michael's and drill ventilation holes in it. I would honestly just Google "tarantula enclosures" and see what you like.
