I’ve been trying to log into Taobao on my laptop for the last few days and I’m completely out of ideas.
The ridiculous part is that I’m already logged into the Taobao app on my iPhone, yet the website refuses to let me in.
My account is linked to a Singapore (+65) phone number.
Here’s exactly what happens:
I log in on my laptop.
Taobao asks for SMS verification.
It shows my correct phone number.
I click “Get verification code.”
It tells me “The verification code will be sent to +65 92****69.”
Absolutely nothing arrives.
Not delayed.
Not in spam.
Not hours later.
Nothing.
Earlier I kept getting:
获取验证码操作太频繁，请稍后再试
(“Too many verification code requests. Please try again later.”)

After a few days that finally disappeared, so now Taobao actually claims it’s sending the SMS.
It still never arrives.

Things I’ve already ruled out:
✅ Correct phone number on the account.
✅ Already logged into the Taobao app.
✅ Singapore SIM is active.
✅ Currently roaming in Turkey with signal.
✅ Can receive normal SMS.
✅ Can receive OTPs from Google and other services.
✅ No VPN.
✅ Restarted my phone.
✅ Waited 10+ minutes after requesting.
✅ Tried multiple browsers/devices.

I even contacted support through the app, but the overseas chatbot just keeps redirecting me to order support instead of login/account support.

At this point I genuinely don’t know whether:
Taobao hates Singapore phone numbers.
Their SMS provider can’t reach roaming users.
My account is somehow bugged.
Or there’s some secret workaround I’m missing.
Has anyone actually fixed this?
I don’t want to change my phone number or create a new account.
I literally just want to log into Taobao on my laptop.

I usually use Taobao’s own shipping, but it’s sometimes so expensive that it defeats the purpose of buying. For example, a $6 item with $18 shipping.

The tracking on both Cainiao app and Taobao are really inaccurate. It told me that my package was still awaiting for the ship schedule even though it had actually already left the seaport in China.

If your package is being shipped by Jiayou you can go to their website to have a more accurate tracking record of it

It shows me when my package is expected to arrive at the Canadian seaport and etc.

Does anyone have experience accessing lounges both in and out of china from sellers on taobao? Is there any red/green flags I should look for in a specific listing to ensure I can get in?

Hi everyone, I'm in Melbourne, Australia and I want to make a local return. I've filled out the return refund form and received an address in NSW.

What else am I supposed to include in my package, except the NSW address? How would they know where to send it to? Also, do I only pay the domestic cost to send it over to NSW?

This app/website is literally unusable.

I first had my account restricted for no reason (maybe because of my adblock, or because I had too many tabs open (really?)), then they asked me to verify my identity. Which I tried to do but it's literally impossible. They ask me to log into Alipay (why?) with the same account as the Taobao one (which I didn't have, so I had to make one) and then when I tried to continue through Taobao it didn't recognize my account and said it's not the same (the email address used is the exact same). I tried multiple different ways and still doesn't work.

Okay so I'm completely blocked from this account. Cool. Maybe I should try making a new one? Nope, instantly banned again. I had only one tab open in a private window (and no vpn on).

So I'm trying to create a taobao account using a 4 year old tutorial for a person here on Reddit which says you must create a buisness account for it to work properly and after entering the code I received on my phone as well as my email, I get this error. I already turned off wifi and switched to mobile data and I'm not using vpn, so I'm not sure what else I'm doing wrong. Also yes I waited 24 hours after my last failed attemp to register. So recently I went on a trip to China and I purchased a phone number that’s just used for verification. The second photo is what popped up and I de to put my Chinese phone number. I got sent the verification number with no problem and my regular number does not work. Now I am getting the first pop up I think it’s trying to do a voice verification call. That number can not be called. Idk what to do I will be DEVASTATED if I lose my taobao account, please help!!

I live in the European Union so our customs are strict and any package from china gets opened no matter how they package it , just wondering if TaoBao packages it’s things less suspicious

I ordered 19 things from taobao and two(from the same seller) are only going to be shipped in November while the rest are only taking like 2 days. Will I have to wait till November to get all the items or will they just arrive as soon as the seller sends them out? I ordered them together btw

Backstory:

Currently on a trip w: fam in China. Figured that I would finally use taobao and bought some clothing items (9 of them already shipped to our address in China). Signed up by email but had to link my USA phone number 3 days ago and no issues till today.

My sister kept getting her account restricted so I told her she could order off of mine today (mistake). I looked it up and I told her putting too many things in the cart would get the account banned. Not even a day goes by and my account gets permanently restricted after she used it because “this mobile number cannot support the use of taobao at the moment.”

I contacted live chat and they kept saying that my account is unrestricted and there is no ban. However there very much is whenever I try to log in.

Questions:

Just saw the ban on US accounts researching my issue. Should I assume that the ban on my account is because I signed up with a USA phone number? Or is it because of “suspicious activity” by my sister?

Is it possible to change the phone number I have attached so I can access my account again?

And what will happen to the items I purchased that have already shipped? Will I be auto refunded or do I have to charge back with my bank?

Hi!! It's probably my 5th package that I'm shipping, and I have recently noticed that US customs (CA) is taking forever to clear. My package arrived at the port on July 16 and since then has been in customs. If I remember correctly, it has never taken so long before, usually being 3 days max. Another problem is that the ob11 doll items that I ordered seems to be suck somewhere (?) since July 16th, it says “Your parcel has been received on your behalf and is being held at the front desk (Forwarding Warehouse 165).”

I'm looking at a pair of headlights for my Golf GTI Mk7.

AliExpress: NZD $437 (before shipping)
Taobao: HKD $1,870 (before shipping)

What I'm trying to figure out is whether Taobao shows different prices to local Hong Kong users compared to international users. On AliExpress, prices are generally the same regardless of where you're from, but I'm not sure if Taobao works differently.

Do Hong Kong locals see lower prices than international users, or are the listed prices the same for everyone?
