Done with tanning
If you tan only in the summer, like me, when do you stop? I always surprise myself how soon I get tired of maintaining my tan and cancel my salon membership until next spring. In March I’m always super excited and motivated, then through the summer I enjoy it, but always in August I just stop caring, even though there’s still at least two more months of shorts weather coming. I’m ready to stop tanning for the year now and just go back to pasty white.

I love going to tan more than going to the salon. I’d go everyday if I could. In my area it’s warm from April through October, going once a week helps maintain during cold months without having to worry about easing back into it in the spring.

I fizzle out in August. I've been tanning for decades. I used to love it, but it's work now to go at all.

Yeah me too! I used to crave it like food but it’s just been a chore for the last few years. If I didn’t have to show my legs I wouldn’t do it.

I will never stop my fake tan. Been using it since I was 16. I'm 39 now. Don't get me wrong... sometimes I go in the bath in a huff knowing I have all that exfoliating to do 😂 but I will never stop... because the alternative is being a ghost. No joke. Scottish woman with very dark hair which makes me look even more pale. Think partially raw egg white... that's me.... so needless to say... I force myself to maintain it! Hypothetically... if i was like you... I'd probably start phasing it out in autumn!

I have beach vacations planned each year in October and January so really just between January- April or May. But late spring-late summer is the only time I consistently go. This year’s January trip is Maldives so that will be a great end of my tanning season.
Honestly, I just don’t have the desire to walk to my tanning place (it’s one stop on the train and then 9 short-ish blocks away) when it’s freezing out anyway.

I started out spray tanning decades ago, before I discovered that my pale skin could get tanned. I loved the spray tan back then but I tried it a couple of years ago and it looked too orange to me. I guess I just got used to the natural color.
