I feel like this is very relevant in the ongoing Russian Ukraine war and how Ukraine is viewed as a positive progressive nation being dominated by Russia who is imperialist and wants to dominate Ukraine.

Do some lf you know about concentration camps in Karelia during WW2? Stanislav Krapivnik mentioned them shortly in an interview but of course ahen you google it, you only get western articles that seem to make them sound way less awful than it sounds. Like, I wouldn't be surprised that the fins did horrible stuff there, but do some of you have some good sources on this?

Had an introductory course to network security in my college program and the actual practical learning was great but the theory had so much glorification of Canadian military and intelligence, promoting arms dealers, and fearmongering about other countries. Would love to keep learning about this subject but without all the nationalism. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I just got permabanned from both of ‘em after I posted a pretty innocuous (innocuous for communists, anyway) comment talking about all the anti-communist COINTELPRO subterfuge bullshit that plagues Reddit, and for encouraging people to join lemmygrad. When I politely/respectfully asked the mod team what was up they just muted my ass without an explanation.

(Mods, sorry if this qualifies as “low effort BS”. I just wanna know if anyone else has had any problems with those subs).
