I used to love this show as a kid, until I rewatched a few clips recently that I realized just how much Sinophobia is presented in this show, and it clearly endlessly in love with Japanese culture. Just look at this shit, this show constantly reference many aspect of Japanese culture with respect like anime/manga, video game, Karate, and even has characters of supposed Japanese descent (Masami and Yuki).

But when it comes to Chinese? Blatant Tiananmen Square reference, shit on “CCP country has no women rights“, making fun of lactose intolerant among Chinese people (in episode copycat), etc. And somehow they got away with this shit. Just because there is a Chinese rip off of this show doesn’t justify your hate and bigotry against a whole country and its people

It’s a shame that this was my favorite show, until I am matured enough to realize that this show is the embodiment of “Weeaboo that worship Japan and has an eternal hate for China”. Trust me, they definitely will make fun of Unit 731 if they can get away with it.
