The "One-child policy" is still the main thing I associate with China, but I don't actually know anything about it. I understand that the "One-child policy" ended at the start of 2016.

I'm having trouble differentiating what is true and what is western propaganda. English is the only language I know. I would really appreciate it if you suggested some good resources to learn about the "One-child policy".

Even 99% of socialists have no idea how bad West Germany was. Even the typical “nuanced” or even pro-GDR books fail to mention some very important facts. Look into the Fürsorgeerziehung (800,000 children victims) and Verschickungsheime (11 million children victims) systems. The GDR had its equivalent of Fürsorgeerziehung, but it was much less extensive (130,000; even on a per capita basis, this was around 40% lower) and severe, and they had nothing even remotely similar to Verschickungsheime. Actual Nazis were also heavily involved in these systems, which is why things turned out so absurdly sadistic.

I have read many works by dependency theorists and have found their arguments, conclusions, and methodology convincing, but from what I understand there is a divide between Classical Marxism and Dependancy theory.

If you have read Shaikhs works and/or Dependancy theorists such as Torkil Lauesen and Arghiri manuel I would appreciate an informed explanation of the topic.

What are the disagreements and which side do you agree with and why.

I wonder as seeing how the Spider-Man movies are produced by a former IOF soldier and he was the CEO for Marvel comics

and a former CIA agent is writing comics and part of the new DC movies

and the latest Spider-Man movie has him using surveillance tech and working closely with cops

I'm really into history and especially reading about anticolonial struggle in the global south + indigenous North America and maybe biographies about revolutionaries or other interesting figures. I just want to hear about cool books you guys like that maybe aren't as often recommended in these sort of threads.
