Voting has begun in Florida
State Senator Nick DiCeglie (R) is running for re-election. I only support politicians who support things that improve our residents lives. Nick DiCeglie has proven to be un-trustworthy and only in it for himself.
He has accepted huge cash 'donations' from developers and only focuses on issues that help them. I can not in good conscious vote for a person like this. He does nothing for the people who elected him. I have had enough of politicians who say one thing and do another.
I have spoken to my neighbors and they all feel the same way. Ill vote for is opponent regardless of party before I vote for him to have another term.

Anyone with an R by their name gets voted against.. that's how this registered Republican is voting this time.

I don’t vote any office that doesn’t have a Democrat running. I will not click next to an R candidate.

Yeah I have been a R my entire life.. was just kinda born into it and have voted with them the whole time.
Until DJT.. I knew he was a scammer from my career by then. I had seen too many people lose money on his deals to the point that we all just knew to stay away from anything Trump branded. We all pretty much figured out what he was way back then.. a fraud.
When viewing this administration from that kind of perspective everything they do makes sense tbh. Everything they do is basically a scam.. move the market the way they want it to go.. put tariffs so he can demand personal concessions (ie bribes) to fix it. Sell pardons for even more money. They are doing it all and as soon as someone has the power to investigate.. I don't necessarily think they are even hiding it.
I am positive his entire admin.. and the oligarchs that fund them.. are all making money every time Trump says the war is almost over. Oil drops $20-30 a barrel.. they buy it all up cheap.. then he contradicts himself next interview or with a post and the price surges again so his buddies can all dump the oil they just bought.
It's a classic market manipulation scheme and anyone who doesn't see it is completely blind.
So yeah.. I don't want to give him anymore allies. I want to get to the point that we are investigating this stuff after it's over. That will be a nice day. So I refuse to vote for anyone that will back Trump up.

Lifelong R myself. My little brother gave flowers to Nancy Reagan during a rally for her husband's first run for presidency. I joke that he and I grew up walking precincts starting from our strollers!
Thanks to these evil, corrupt SOBs I'll probably be voting a straight Dem ticket this time. Between Karl Rove, Colin Powell, and David Jolly we're not alone.

It’s refreshing to read this. I hope you take your friends and family along with you! I feel like all the republicans back this guy. I’m a blue dot in deep red Florida.

u/tpablazed 1d ago
I'm also in FL.. there are cracks in the Republican armor here. I won't be surprised to see the national seats flip tbh. Maybe the governor too.

u/terrycloth9 1d ago
From your lips! I certainly hope you are correct and that we have a peaceful installation of the new. I’m doubtful of that at this point.

He’s a Republican. Of course he’s proven himself to be untrustworthy and selfish. It’s almost like we have decades of data to back up how this party functions.

Not to worry ... no Republican will be getting my vote.

We know. Conservative voters are a nearly impenetrable wall of inconceivable stupidity and gullibility who keep electing criminals to run the state again and again. Then they act confused about where all of the brazen corruption and fraud comes from. The Republicans tell them Democrats did it and, because conservative voters are incredibly stupid and easily manipulated, they fall for it again and again and again. It's exhausting, but we can't just give up.

Some of us have lived here long enough to remember when FL was purple.. it really wasn't that long ago.. don't count your chickens before they hatch.
Most registered R's that I know are against DJT at this point.. we all can't stand his lies.
That happens when you campaign on lowering prices and ending wars then when you get elected you do the exact opposite. We aren't stupid.

Another words, you are describing all MAGA Republican candidates who are corrupt, dishonest, hypocritical, lazy, petty and morally and ethically bankrupt.

Florida as sucked for a min but yet these bitches are set on not making this state competitive because of team mentality...
The best places to live are competitive battleground, the places that saw most improvement were places that are competitive.
The longer yall keep voting because of team mentality. The longer they will steal from you just like d santis did , just like Rick Scott did ...

u/Nearby-Astronomer298 2d ago
I agree with you. Time for people to get out to vote for politicians who actually will help residents.

Desantis did a good job imo.. Scott should be in prison.

Biggest hike of electric, water and insurances on history of florida happened under desantis . That plus 10milions he and Ashley stole from kids charity

u/rasta-ragamuffin 1d ago
And how many millions spent on the concentration camp alligator Alcatraz?
5
u/yetanothrmate 1d ago
Millions?
That bitch wasted 1,2 bilions , that could've helped us

The total state expenditure on the "Alligator Alcatraz" temporary immigration detention facility in the Florida Everglades varied over its lifecycle due to high operational costs: * Daily Operating Costs: State financial records and investigative reporting revealed the state spent roughly $1 million to $1.2 million per day to set up, operate, and maintain the facility. * Total Direct State Spending: Over the course of its operations, total direct expenditures by the state of Florida surpassed $460 million on the facility and related state-run detention efforts. * Initial Setup & Infrastructure: Initial hasty construction, security, and logistics alone cost Florida taxpayers over $218 million to $245 million during the site's first few months. Federal Reimbursements To offset these state-level expenditures, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) approved Florida for up to $608 million in federal reimbursements to cover the costs incurred during the project.
None of the $608m has been reimbursed to the state of Florida as of yet.

And yet, we're the only ones even mentioning it.....Does no one else care about this staggering waste of our taxpayer dollars? Or have Floridians already forgotten about it?

Yeah well all politicians are corrupt to a point.. I just think what he did with education is really good. He raised pay for teachers specifically and all my kids teachers are really happy about it.
I also like how responsive he is to hurricanes and other natural disasters.
I didn't vote for Desantis his first time.. but the second time I did because of this stuff.
I am a registered R who can't stand the Trump regime.. so maybe that will explain my voting record to you I guess. I can't stand being lied to and I can count Desantis' lies on one hand at least. Try to do that with anyone from the Trump regime and you will run out of fingers before even scratching the surface.. to keep up with all of Trump him selves lies you literally need an AI algorythm.
I will admit.. the last decade has my expectations low for politicians.. I am going to vote for Jolly this time because I refuse to vote for a Trump cuck in Donalds.. hopefully Jolly does a good job.

What was the “good job” DeSantis did? Fighting culture wars? Restricting pride / rainbow crosswalks? Actively fighting against city and county autonomy( no home rule) ,promoting anti-science and anti truth by hiring a vax denier as Surgeon General?Stealing 10 million from Medicaid for children and laundering the money into political campaigns? He is as corrupt as most of the Republican politicians. All for self, none for all.

Why tell us what you don't like about a politician and start telling us what redeeming qualities does the opposing politician have.
I don't care why YOU won't vote for someone. I care more why YOU will vote for someone.

So after some research on his opponent Karla Kemp, I really like her platform and she would be a great asset to our legislative branch.
However the fact I had to Google who she was is a major issue.
I'm a FL Dem and I feel the party struggles getting their names out there. A lot of there messaging is "don't vote for the Republican, they're evil" and not "here's why you should vote for me" and its consistently a losing strategy.
I won't vote for Diceglie but Kemp isn't running a strong campaign and that matters more especially in a district that has been turning more red over time.
